How soon will withdrawals return?

I have been a fairly regular user of hydrocodone for about a year and half. My normal dose to feel good was 30mg with some beer and weed about 2-3 times a week. I never had any kind of withdrawal symptoms and would feel fine the day/night after dosing.

Then I went on a run for about 5 weeks of taking them daily. My tolerance built up to where I was taking 40-50mg. I didn't want to let it get bad so I quit a little over a week ago. I had withdrawals for about 3 days. Mostly I was achy, restless and couldn't sleep for more than 30-45 mins at a time. That has passed and I am feeling pretty normal now, although I am not sleeping as well as when I was partying every night...

My question is how quickly will the withdrawals come back if I take a dose? At this point should I be able to partake and not feel bad the next day again?

Thanks in advance.

you had rather short period of use

give it a month, 2 at most

Im a year into it and still struggle

but im a different story

If you only use for one day, you probably won'[t get withdrawals. However after becoming addicted once, you get addicted more quickly. I've been an on again off again user of oxy and heroin for about 5 years, and if I use for more than 2-3 days straight, I get withdrawals, whereas at the beginning I probably would have had to use for 2-3 weeks daily to feel them. So if you keep your use very minimal and space out your opiate sessions, you can avoid withdrawals, but of course no one ever actually succeeds in doing that if they have a constant supply of opiates.
