How sedating is alprazolam

In my head
Hi,

I have some flunitrazepam, which as you know is a sedating hypnotic, and tomorrow I'll be getting some alprazolam. I want to combine these two, but I don't want to become so sleepy that I feel like going to bed. Being sedated is fine - it's actually an effect I welcome, but not to the point where I become tired.

To give you an idea of my tolerance: yesterday I took 4mg alprazolam and 6mg flunitrazepam, and initially it was nice, but after a while I became too tired. Tomorrow I will be getting another 4mg alprazolam.

My question is this: if you take into account my tolerance, how much alprazolam and how much flunitrazepam would you take? Wikipedia states that alprazolam is too a hypnotic, so please take this into account aswell. And I know some of you would perhaps not combine the two but take them separately on separate occasions, but I specifically enjoy this combination as alprazolam is mainly an anxiolytic and flunitrazepam a hypnotic, which means you get both anxiolysis and sedation, and that's basically what I'm trying to do: balance the anxiolysis and the sedation so the sedation does not become a lot more pronounced than the anxiolysis, like it did yesterday.

Thanks in advance.

deXo

IMO, flunitrazepam is more hypnotic, although mixing the two could have caused a sedating effect more pronounced than either benzo separately.

I don't have any personal experience with flunitrazepam however, I know some BDD regulars have and they'll be able to chime in on the subject...

I do know together is a sedating effect you might fall asleep unless you have a tolerance to Xanax.

I do, I have a tolerance to Xanax as I take it way more often than flunitrazepam, but even if I did not there would be the cross tolerance. But mentioning that they may work together on the sedation have already given me ideas, but I'd still like to hear more answers, perhaps some that are longer and more elaborate :) but still, thanks!

I told you how much I usually take, my question is how much would you suggest I take? Or perhaps you could just provide me with some sort of ratio of how sedating the two benzos are compared to each other, like 3:1 if flunitrazepam is 3 times more sedating than alprazolam.

I find them both sedating and great for reducing anxiety, also very amnestic!

Although as you know the Xanax is a shorting acting Benzo compared to Rohypnol, which is up there with my favourites as its effects are strong and long lasting which means if i have particulary anxiety inducing event coming up then i will dose highly on the Rohypnol the day before and my anxiety will still be under control yet the other unwanted effects will not be noticeable.

Flunitrazepam is an excellent Benzodiazepine (IMO/IME) its such a shame that is gained notoriety for date rape so is therefore rarely prescribed or maybe not even prescribed at all depending where you live.

Anyway from my own experiences and your explanation of your tolerance i think you will most likely fall sleep and/or not remember very much.

Im sorry i cant state the quantity i would take as my tolerance is lethal to most people :(

Stay safe and have fun ;)
