How safe is an intense workout after taking ritalin throughout the day?

I have been taking roughly 55mg every three hours throughout the day. By the time I am supposed to work out, I will have hit 270mg total taken today. Is this going to be dangerous? It should be noted I have a bit of tolerance. Should I just stop dosing now? I have taken a total of 190mg so far today. I will be working out in 3 hours.
 
Completely depends on your tolerance, how the Ritalin is affecting you, your level of hydration, your unique body, and how strenuous and long-lasting your workout is. I would stop dosing now. Can't tell you whether or not your workout will be safe, I have no idea. I guess just try to take it easy, keep your fluids/electrolytes up and stop if your heart rate gets too high.
 
Yeah I'm just going to stop now, even though my brain is screaming *NOOOOO DONT STOP*. Hopefully be at baseline by the time I work out.
 
Tolerance plays into this, I would imagine, but 270mg? damn! that's gettin up there....

You have all these football players who dropped from just ephedra-based energy drinks a few years back, so please be careful! Someone with no tolerance could stroke out on a lot less ritalin, not to make you paranoid.
 
270mg is very high. I would wait a day, because you could pop either now or after coming down. That's a lot of cardiac stress for the average person.
 
Yeah dont forget it's not all at once and I've got tolerance big time. I've maintained a very subtle buzz throughout the day.
 
I doubt it will kill you, but it won't do your heart any favours.
Overstressing the muscles can lead to damage. Even though you won't immediately notice anything other than increased perspiration and heart rate. In the long it could lead to damage.
If you stop dosing now, keep hydrated and have a leisurely cardio session, you should be fine.
Though if you feel any over stressing in your chest after 5-10mins, give it a miss.
People do exercise on stims, its not unheard of, just don't make it a regular thing.
To be honest, if you think of all the people on mdma,speed, meth etc dancing for hours on end, in comparison your good to go.
 
You're at risk of overexerting your body. Not only do stimulants put you at the risk of a dangerously high heart rate, but hypertension as well. Increased temperatures can result in organ damage, even failure. You also may become dehydrated without even noticing.

Despite what you think you may know or how you may feel, the stimulant is counter productive to use during a work out.

What you described above, it's not only dangerous but EXTREMELY dangerous. Dosing 55mg Methylphenidate every three hours for a total of 270mg and then going to perform strenuous exercise is literally asking for trouble. At such high dose, the body is totally immune from pain that otherwise give warning signals to strop stressing it. Speeding that high on Ritalin will also make you want to dissipate the excess energy levels and push your body even further. Pain is totally being blocked and the only time you will feel (actually, notice) that you crossed the line is when dropping down. Also, excessive sweating will be inevitable and face dehydration (that might result in kidney damage).

At this moment, your judgment is being impaired to the point of paranoia. Not only stop now, but avoid by all means any form of workout. Be gentle to your heart and body. Just sit down and enjoy the roll (and the comedown -- later) Your body is the greatest instrument you'll ever own. Take care of it and don't be reckless with it. BE responsible, know your limits and you'll have many years to enjoy all the pleasures of like.

For clubbing or inline skating the bike paths, I wouldn't normally exceed plugging up my rectum 20mg x 3 day my ADHD Ritalin IR prescription. Past that there's no benefit except increased side-effects and crashing much harder later on (Of which Ritalin is known of).
