Vomiting seems to be kind of a myth, because even LSD is known to cause DMT-type purging. Mescaline also has a reputation for producing a purge and look what Myron J. Stolaroff says about it.


every time I eat a decent amount of really good clean needlepoint it makes me nauseous and sometimes like said above "purge". although that's only the first hour into the experience and only with high quality stuff. just because everything feels kind of shakey. im not too fond of comeups on any drug in particular,after I start peaking though everything is just gravy

I wasn't reflecting on DMT itself purging anyone, ayahuasca does with all that plant material containing hundreds of alkaloids. Most sources told me you either vomit or will have diarrhea after the ceremony. :D

Official, legal project, a professor was dosing many people IV DMT and the film is about what they saw and how their perception of life changed. This film put the whole dmt thing in a different perspective, recommended!

I just watched it in its entirety. It was interesting, for sure. Everyone really did have a different type of ego loss experience, at least in that small study, though it wasn't surprising given their totally different backgrounds and mindsets. I didn't like how the subjects were a bit over the top, I cared more about what the doctors and specialists had to say. It was like, uhh, please explain more or how? But that's okay, haha. It was very good. It explained dmt well enough for me to connect it with the experiences that were told to me by my friends. A lot of "oh, that's why!" as I watched this.

I KIND OF agree about certain psychedelics being used for non-recreational purposes, and I can see why they say that. Especially the people in this video, how they want to further knowledge and improve the human state. I just don't see how they, or any of us, could achieve that higher goal in the society we live in. It's too rigid and structured for any one of us (or even a large group of like-minded people) to change it to the degree that they suggest. So knowing this, how can people say they take these kinds of psychs/trypts without any personal enjoyment attached to it? I think they are intertwined. There is that recreational factor even through personal and spiritual enhancement, though of course that gives its use a higher purpose. People learn and improve themselves because they like it and enjoy it.

Anyway, I'm not directing this to you or anyone really. Maybe some of those test subjects though, heh. Just rambling on about the thoughts I had after watching this video. So excuse me for that. :D I also liked that visualization @ 1:08:00. That's how I was trying to describe the oev ripple effect that took over my vision, on an extreme miprocin trip I had. It happened on the come up and didn't dissipate for hours. In fact, I liked a lot of the visualizations during the documentary. It's very...fitting for the topic.

I may try this at some point. The last time I was offered this was many years ago, but I could probably find this one. There is just so much stuff to try, but so much other real life crap that needs more focus. Too. Much. Good. Stuff.

This was not a small test, they injected 60 volunteers. This movie is not even an abstract of the study. If you care about the part with clinical information, then get the book with the same title by Rick Strassman.

The goal is not to change the society or the world we live in, nor to get separated from it. We have to eat, travel, take care of our body and that requires a job for the average man. The goal is to use psychedelics as tools to your own betterment, tools to open the doors of perception & also to have fun. Just respect that goddamn' substance and don't be careless with it because it will punish you.
While I like to spread the "knowledge" to ones who are susceptible to it, I'd never try to talk anyone into using any psychedelic, they're not for everyone. I'm not into spirituality, but the presence of those intities in my trip definitely made me think. They were so... not like what I think my mind would present to me. Still not sure about they being real independent things or just parts of my psyche, but that's going to be a long journey to figure out. People who use psychedelics not only for recreation are the most friendly and unselfish people I have ever met and that means a lot to me. They too, think that we should strive for sustainable economy, respect our mother Earth and be empathetic towards everyone. There is more and more like-minded people every year as the internet catalysed the second psychedelic renessaince (the first one was the one with the hippies that failed because they didn't take care of the real life crap :D).

How powerful? The most powerful of all. Given the fact you broke through with it I have yet to try that, though. My first try was really intense, I became one with the DMT world, the most unique feeling I've ever experienced.

I was a bit anxious before toking, but it was all gone as soon as I had the first hit in my lungs. It hit so fast I had no time to get surprised. All you need to remember, that whatever happens, your body is just fine, no one died from it.

DMT lasts longer than a few minutes anyway.
When I broke through that part lasted 20 minutes followed by 30 minutes of tripping then a quick 10 minute return to baseline.
On LSD though I have heard of it lasting a couple hours and sometimes even the experience changes the feel of the remainder of your trip

OP here, great responses everyone. It's official, all. I will be trying DMT for the first time in a the coming week or so. I am by no means the most experienced tripper, but I have done LSD 3 times (300+ being the most), shrooms 2 times, and a couple different RCs three times. How safe is it to smoke alone in your opinion, on a low/moderate dose? I will be alone and will most likely do it in my room while laying in bed. Unfortunately I don't have a mg scale but I'm going to weigh out .1 g and then break that into 4 doses, equalling roughly 25mg a piece. I will probably just begin with one deep hit to get a feel of it. Any advice on how to prepare for it? Even though preparing for DMT seems impossible lol

Myr-Haha, trust me, I get all of that. Nice post, btw. I was just referring to the overall theme of the documentary, and how it's pretty much impossible to convert enough people to start a real movement in using psychedelics for the improvement of the psyche.

Idk man, 60 people is still a very small sample size. Even a 1000 is arguably still small. At least, enough to solidify the study's efficacy and to get the skeptics to buy in.

Yeah, we could say we are doing psychedelics for a higher purpose. But ultimately, it's because people like doing it. That in and of itself is recreation, so that's kind of where I was going with that.

I think the combo of DMT on top of an MAOI causes a particular kind of nausea - even moclobemide and DMT pharmahuasca is about 95% certain to make you throw up once the DMT starts coming on.

I was considering making a little area for myself in the backyard but at the same time I'm not sure how I will react to the substance. I always love tripping outside though, I can't help but feel that I am wasting a trip when I spend it inside all cooped up. Thinking about laying down a blanket, a couple pillows, etc. Maybe some incents. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Should I be fine, or would it be better to just stay inside the first few times?

Honestly, anywhere is good where you feel good, safe and won't be disturbed for at least 15 minutes. So don't prepare for any long lasting journey you got used to, it will be over in no time - given you don't plan to break through. I didn't with 30mg and the CEV part was about 5-6 minutes and another 7-8 minutes with eyes open just wondering how beautiful everything is However, any outside stimulation could ground you (like birds chirping, noise from traffic..etc). I was listening to ambient music the first two times, but I'll definitely go without it next time.
Make sure to tidy the area where you plan to to it, because that's what you'll see first when you come back. Dim lights are also good idea us suggested before me, too much can 'burn out' visuals, too little or darkness results in not as detailed CEV's.
Having a sitter is good, because you likely won't be able to put down your apparatus after the second hit and it's good to talk to someone after. But 99% you will sit or lie and will not move till the end of the trip so I find a sitter is not as necessary as it is for LSD for example. At least prepare pen&paper or an audio recorder because the memories of the trip will fade quiclky. At least it did for me.

I suggest get a milligram accurate scale. 20 bucks on amazon. If yours is capable of displaying 0.01g, that usually means 0.01+ - 0.05g accuracy which is 50mg, so your 0.1g could easily be anywhere between 50-150mg. This could mean the difference between not really getting anywhere and breaking through if vaped right.

it's as powerful as you want it to be.

i have found dmt to be the psychedelic which it's by far the easiest to dose. and that's without using a scale. as soon as you exhale you know if it's enough or if you should take another puff.
it goes from slight aesthetic enhancement to a high comparable in intensity as (but better than) weed to tripping as you would on any oral psychedelic to hyperspace.

i've also never had the problem that if you want to go to hyperspace you have to dose everything at once. ime it works perfectly well at the end of a 1h session of repeated dmt smoking.

at the end of the session and i'm talking about breaking through. i have never noticed any kind of tolerance with dmt.

Yea there's definitely no time limit with DMT. I've broken through with rapid successive hits, came down from hyperspace and waited a minute, hit the pipe again, off to hyperspace, back down, repeat, etc.

What matters isn't time but how you're processing and dealing with the experience. If you're completely letting go and becoming one with the energy, so to speak, it's very easy to go back into hyperspace. Like very, super, extremely, easy. But again, that's if you're totally in sync with the DMT, and for me that took a good 15-20 experiences.
