How open are you about your drug use? Who knows you use drugs?

Nice try but i was also addicted to oxy and it sucks compared to morphine imo. Dilaudid is far better then both and fentanyl sucks ass. Most people would take morphine over fent anyday
IV Dilauded, 2 1/2 hours of better than any of them. Morphine has a bioavailibilty rate that changes from person to person. Didn't help very much.
Also oxycodone produces euphoria in most people. Had a family member who didn't like it.
Not psychologically addicted to anything other than the cigarettes I make. Saves me a fortune, I was told the prices are worse in Canada.

Ya doesent really get much better then iv dilly imo. Cigs are about 20 bucks a pack now but i get contraband cigs that are 5 bucks a pack thankfully. I smoke 2 packs a day and could never afford 40 fucking bucks a day

Criminal behavior, I guess taxes don't apply to you. 2 packs a day, don't they sell filter tube's, loose cigarette tobacco and have a decent cigarette making machine you can buy?

$10 dollars Canadian is still over $7 US Dollars a day, and 7× 7.30= over $50 US a week.

That type of thing, contraband cigarettes, would mean years of slave labor in a gulag, a starvation diet and basically a miserable early death in a failed communist country, you know back in the day when communism, destroyed countless hundreds of millions of lives. A lot more if throw in Red China.

Why should i pay taxes? So the government can fight a fucking war in the Ukraine and Palestine?

The untaxed cigs work out to 10 bucks a day canadian

Many junkies steal, and lie, and have no sense of humor. Many if not most only care about their next fix, not all but many.

That is very true, and pretty much described me at one time (though I never lost my sense of humour 😉). But that doesn't change the fact that those preachy types are insufferable.

Your taxes also pay for public infrastructure and things like schools and hospitals. If you want to be against taxation on principle then you better not use any of those.

What's wrong isn't having a tax system per se, it's not having measures in place that ensure taxpayer money doesn't get funneled into some corrupt MP's pocket and used to pay for a private duck pond or £800 a roll wallpaper.

Morphine is weak.
You were not a junkie.

Since when is the comparative strength of a substance the thing that determines whether someone is addicted to it? 😶

What would you have called all those M addicts that were around before heroin was invented? You wanna tell me a guy like William S. Burroughs wasn't one?! If morphine is what you can get hold of, and you compulsively shoot morphine, then yep you're a junkie by any definition.

I absolutely agree with you there. I tell her she's a hypocrite constantly. I don't know how you can live half your life using, then hate everything and everyone whose doing the same thing you were. She just thinks we're all scum. But I still love her. She got it together and I'm proud of her for that. I could just do without the judgement.

I find people like that also annoyingly tend to rewrite their own history to fit it into their new 'sober' narrative. They will claim that EVERYTHING about their drug use without exception was just always awful and bad and a disaster right from the start, and how much they hated doing it etc which we all know isn't true. Using isn't like voluntarily hitting yourself in the head with a hammer.
At some point, on some level, you MUST have liked it and it was giving you something, or at any rate you felt like it was giving you something, or you wouldn't have kept doing it. Nobody gets addicted to shit they don't enjoy.

That's where I think most rehab programmes go wrong from the get-go, because the focus is on abstinence through shame and fear, so they really push the negative angle and insist you view all your escapades purely through that lens, and that distorts the picture. The first step to changing your behaviour in a healthy way is to own it. I'd say start by admitting that you bloody well liked it, and be honest with yourself about the reasons why, instead of blanket self-condemnation. Fact is there's positives to drug use, even if you end up in a situation where they are cancelled out and overtaken by the negatives, and it's best to acknowledge this.

I've actually had this talk with her. I use meth because I have almost daily chronic migraines and I do not get them when I use. I am not sure how or why that works but most drugs make me feel like crap. Even oxy brings on more headaches. On meth I'm able to function a lot more than I was before I was using. I swear I had a period of around a year when I wasn't getting out of bed. It's helped me with so many things. I take cymbalta (snri) for both depression and fibromyalgia. I don't know if it's the combination of meth with cymbalta that helps but I'm not nearly as depressed as I was. I have more energy. I take better care of myself. Less headaches is really the major one for me. If I could find a Dr to prescribe desoxyn (medical methamphetamine) I probably would stop smoking. I just wonder if it would have the same effect. When I tell her this, she doesn't really have much to say. I think she gets it. We've known each other a very long time so she knows what I've been thru with migraines. I've gotten so bad that my neurologist didn't know what to do with me. They've never been controlled like they are when I use. I've been honest with people about what and why I use. I'm also someone who can use daily for 3 months and then stop for 3 months with no issues. I've been like that with every addictive substance in my life. I can start and stop usually with no issue. I did have withdrawals from oxy but I think anyone who takes it consistently for 15 years would have withdrawals.

Junk is an old school term for heroin, therefore to be a junkie you must use heroin. If Williams S Burroughs was still alive and lived where ever you do he could explain it.
I was a drunk, why because I abused alcohol. If I had never drank but was a heavy heroin user, would that make me a drunk, no. I would be considered a junkie. Cokeheads use cocaine, crackheads, use crack, meth users are tweezers, potheads smoke pot.
The old school name for those addicted to morphine, were called morphine addicts. I am too tired too go on.

I agree, the AA and NA people annoy me. Been to an AA once or twice, each time, I never wanted to drink more in my life. Nothing like listening to a woman( attractive) ball her head off because of months of sobriety, she had a sip of Champagne. Lol

Could it be that the meth constricts blood vessels in your head?

Most likely. I take triptans, which are vasoconstrictors when I get a migraine. They're really the only thing that has gotten rid of migraines for me. Demerol used to knock me out when I was younger. I'd sleep for 16 hours and still wake up with a headache. When I get a really bad one and have to go to the hospital, fetti doesn't touch it. To be honest I didn't even realize what was going on for a while. I just noticed I had a lot of my triptans left over when it came time to refill them. That never happens to me.

Sorry to hear about your migraines, I get them too, occasionally. My mother was not fat, but the funny thing is, is that too much sugar( not a lot) for her and a love of aged white sharp cheese, not much either and she would get horrible migraines. She was going to do what she wanted even if meant horrible pain for hours or longer.

I got mine from my grandfather. He would have to go to the hospital if he ate chocolate. I have too many things that affect mine to pinpoint any one thing. That would be too easy

Williams Burroughs born 1914, heroin invented in 1874. No you are not, you are a morphine addict. Just like a Tweaker isn't a crackhead. A cocaine user is not an alcoholic. Junk and junkies refers specifically to heroin.

I have a blood relative who gets a migraine from one m&m, seriously. He avoids chocolate, also diet soda pop causes him problems.

Yeah I understand that. It's pretty much known to stay away from artificial sweeteners. I don't know what it is about them but I can't have them either. MSG in food is another one. It's funny because I actually crave chocolate when I get a migraine. And I don't eat it regularly. It's like you want what you're not supposed to have.

I didn't say Burroughs himself was of a generation before the invention of heroin, I'm well aware that he wasn't. I was taking him as an example because he was a textbook druggie, and a morphine user before he switched to heroin, and he referred to himself and his morphine-using associates as junkies. The term has now become heroin-specific, but wasn't then. 'Junkhead', 'junker' and 'junkie' were common slang terms for morphine users by the early 1920s. Clinicians called them 'morphinists'. In fact you could say the reason the term is now understood to solely mean 'heroin user' is because practically every M addict who didn't quit outright turned to H.

Ok, if you are talking about the morphine
From military surplus that William S Burroughs first got, he was abusing morphine. And latter heroin, then he became a junkie. Morphine sucks.
