I meant to post the following in this thread, but accidently put it in another:
I think the reason why i dream so incessantly is because of my large daily dose of methadone. Opiates supress REM sleep, which results in a less deep sleep, making one prone to very frequent vivid and super-realistic dreams. Since i take my 180mg dose in the morning, it begins to wear off when i go to sleep, so its not suprising that the decreasing methadone blood levels lends itself to dreams about opiate, such as; withdrawaling, trying to get opiates and failing, searching for opiates, getting opiates only to get them taken away from me, methadone clinics reducing my dose by huge increments, and other opiate related nightmares. It doesnt take sigmund freud to determine the origins of these dreams. Occasionally its a good dream, like finding a feild of poppies, or my dad giving me some weird 36mg dilaudid tablets, but the majority are nightmarish (not wake up and scream kind of nightmare, just upseting and dissappointing). Sometimes the dreams are so vivid, that i can feel physical pain, and it legitamitely hurts, but my body is probably hurting to begin with, and the dream makes up a reason for why i have the pain, usually drug related. Everytime i close my eyes and fall into any form of sleep, i dream.
