Opioids How much will klonopin help withdrawal

swim has been doing about 1 opana 40 a day for about two months now. Swim is looking to beat it but is quite scared because swim has never come off of such a long binge. Swims question is how much would taking klonopin help with the withdrawals? Swim has beat benzo withdrawal before and believes he could do it relatively easy again. Does anyone have any experience doing this? Will it help at all? Swim would happily take any advice on the matter and personal experiences would be great. Swim has started this last couple days by taking .5 mg klono and it seems to delay any withdrawals for a few hours and then swim will begin to bump some opana. Swim is looking to slowly lower his dose of opana over a few weeks using the klonopin to resist cravings. Swim doesn't know how well this will work or if it will work at all. Swim is really looking forward to any information he can be given on the topic.

Any information is greatly appreciated. Swim cannot afford any rehab to help him so kicking it by himself would be best, so keep that in mind. Thanks in advance for everything

ok sorry about the swim i thought that was how it goes. thanks for the quick response, I'm not worried about getting hooked on benzos as I've kicked them before rather easily so I'm really just looking to kick the opana with the least withdrawal symptoms as possible so i figured the kpins+hydros would help with that, but obviously i wasn't sure about that. So if i were to use around 1.5 mg of kpins and maybe two 7.5 hydros a day, slowly decreasing the dosage what sort of symptoms should i expect? Obviously i could start with higher dosages of each if you think that might be better, I'm just not sure how high a dose i should start with and how long i should drag out the tapering off.

As i said before i am very new to opiate withdrawal so i really have no idea what to expect.

Glad to hear you are trying to stop and get cleaned up a bit. Its hard to do. I went thru opiate w/d's with MS Contin and its not a lot of fun. Benzos and some Immodium for the diarrhea will be your greatest assets. Good luck bro. It will be over before you know it :)

Avoid alcohol*

THanks guys for the support I'm glad to hear that benzos will help because i was really banking on that. I also already had the immodium to help with the runs. Im really excited about kicking it i have a few more days supply of opana which I'm going to go ahead to use and then start the process. I hope my experience goes as well as yours aveoturbo as opana is quite a bit stronger than mscontin but we shall see. I will really appreciate any more advice on the subject I'm kinda freaking out to be honest:\ any descriptions of what your experience was like would make me feel a lot better

thanks again

Day 1 started with the shits. Day 2 was a sore asshole, more of the runs and anxiety attacks. Day 3 was kind of a repeat, a bit more intense and then everything declined and by like day 6/7 I was fine and no longer physically craved the drug. Im luck it was just a physical dependence and not psychological as well. Its the only drug I ever had a prob with. Taper your left over opana as much as possible as it will ease up the sobering up a bit better but may draw it out longer. If you have a doctor you can be honest with, talk to them and they could help you taper down the most comfortably.
I picked the drug up again out of medical necessity and had to have my doctor taper me down off of it. It was alot easier and more comfortable. Took about a month to do, but 3 days after my last use of the medicine I was fine and like a whole new person. Hope this helps :)

And that was with benzo use you got bad anxiety? Did you try immodium to stop the runs? I feel like I'm well set up to take the plunge to get off the bitches. Opana is great but after a while i just realized its not worth it. I have no doctor i can trust unfortunately my addiction is mental and physical so this is all me just trying to break the habit. I am pretty confident i can do it I'm just worried during my tapering off period i will be so bad off that my co workers/ family will notice something. Thats the main thing i want to use the right combo to where my withdrawals will be as least noticeable as possible so i don't lose my job/ have to take sick days/ or risk my family finding out. i know 40 mg oxymorphone isn't that bad in comparison to other people i know coming off of 600 mg oxycodone a day who had a terrible time kicking it so i feel i may be able to do it but still i am worried.

Being the first time I've ever had to kick an oxy habit i feel maybe using a bit more clonozepam if it will help won't be to bad as i kicked a very bad xanax habit (about 6 mg a day) about a year ago by myself and without anything to help. That was about 3 days of just terrible anxiety that i just had to get through. But opiate withdrawal i have heard horror stories about so i guess i am just working myself up about how bad it could be. but again i thank you for your input i have to say i feel considerably better hearing from you as when i was searching the web i read a lot about how using benzos to kick opiates is a terrible idea and wouldn't work. Needless to say i found that hard to believe and i guess that isn't true for everyone.

I will keep y'all updated and again any more information/personal experiences would help greatly.

I take k-pins for restless leg syndrome, but I liked xanax much better in general for everything. My doctor took me off xanax and put me on the kpins but I take 6 mg a night and I started out at 2 mg. The 6 mg isn't enough anymore. I'm just saying I have built up a very quick tolerance to clonopin. I don't really feel anything from 6 mg so I just keep it around for coming down. When I came down from oxycontin, kpins helped. When I do E or meth I always make sure I have kpins to come down with. Mushrooms also. My whole reason for keeping kpins around is to help ease the comedown.

xanax worked better. I am pissed at my doctor.

xanax does work way better but also the half life is way shorter therefore you have to take more therefore the withdrawals are much worse. Im looking to get off all meds completely so i figured kpins were the much better choice

I just did a bit of research and it appears that nasally, 40mg of Opana is equivalent to 80mg of hydromorphone. What the fuck? That's a serious fucking tolerance to build up in only two months of use dude, damn. When I started snorting OCs, in two months I only got to about 50mg a day from an initial 15 or 20mg.

You'll want to taper down for a good week or two to ease the gnarly w/d you're about to face. Don't use benzos near the start unless you absolutely have to, diphenhydramine or another OTC sleep aid will conk you out at night if you get insomnia. Bring the klonopins into the mix near the end of the taper and keep them up for another week or so after, then quickly taper down off them too. As other posters have said, immodium will help a lot with preventing the shits and other w/d ailments. Good luck man, it'll suck but luckily for you 2 months is a short time to maintain a habit and your post-withdrawal depression shouldn't be too bad at all.
