Hello every one. I do manual labor in southern Arizona outside and it regularly gets over 100 degrees. I drink a lot of water but I don't think it is enough. How much would be enough to keep me hydrated and how offer should I drink water during work?

Plain water won't do it if you're sweating a lot. You need to add an electrolyte powder to the water because with all that sweating you're losing salts. You can buy boxes of electrolyte packets to add to water.

Screw artificially added electrolytes. Follow your taste buds' natural desire and go with:

Lemon
Lime
Apple Cider Vinegar
Pickle juice (seriously)
Salt
Salty things

That'll all help you make better use of the water you take in.

Realistically, plants do not contain the optimal levels and ratios of minerals and other stuffs. Of course, it's still better than nothing, but a drink with carefully adjusted levels/ratios of electrolytes could be better.
