How much water do you drink a day?

Damn you people drink a lot of water. I don't think I drink even a litre per day, 0,5l would be common. Pure water that is, I drink more milk, juice, tea, coffee and some nasty carbonated soft drinks, totaling maybe ~2 litres of liquid per day. Is this bad? If I double my water intake, it definately doesn't feel like I'm doing something better, I just have to take a piss more often (and my skin feels more wet). Maybe I'm just not used to staying properly hydrated, I have some problems with dry skin atleast. Anyway, there was this chart of different colors when it comes to urinating and it made me wonder. Now, I know humans and dogs are different species, but why is dog piss always distinctively yellow, even though they have an unlimited water supply?

Unlimited water supply? You think you don't have one?

Moreover, dog piss is "distinctively yellow" because they're not pissing into water. They're pissing on the ground. When we piss in water, it should become automatically diluted, making it appear lighter. That's why if your piss is yellow in the toilet bowl, then there's something wrong.

The opposite. Our pee IS yellow, if we were to pee on the ground. If we peed on the ground like a dog, our pee would look similar to a dog's: a light to mid colored yellow. However, since we pee in a toilet, the water dilutes the pee, making it appear lighter in color, which is why our pee should look rather light yellow.

And if its simply clear? No yellow at all.
 
im fucking confused

hydrated = pee comes out of my penis clear, and enters the toilet clear. if its not doing that, im not drinking enough water

drink water until piss is clear. easy peasy

Hahaha, I must be speaking from a female's point of view, then. Females don't watch their pee enter the toilet.

I guess I don't have a reason for dogs' pee being slightly yellow, then!
 
I think I might drink a little more water than necessary, but nothing too extreme. I'm a little addicted to ice cold water. And blue Powerade.
 
a whole lot of water....i drink tons and tons of the stuff. probably 8-10 glasses a day. especially if i'm home all day, i'll just constantly fill up my glass throughout the day. water is my favorite beveage, i started drinking water rather than soda several years ago and haven't looked back
 
^ Welcome to the conversation mate, but if you read back, you will see that your "tons and tons" of water pales in comparison to some people's. :P
 
yeah but isn't it dangerous to drink more than 10 glasses of water a day?

It can be dangerous to drink too much water all at once. But if you drink a little more than necessary throughout the course of a whole day, you might just find yourself peeing more than usual.
