How much of the pill does more sophisticated pill analysis require?

(as no one else is stepping in i'll say my uneducated opinion)
well i guess it depends on what you want to know. if you want quantative analysis it's probably best to use as much of the pill as possible, to get the best idea of exactly how much of each substance is each pill. you can of course use a percentage of the pill, and work it out from there, but this would be less reliable than using the whole pill.

Absolutly. But liquid chromatography is not the best way to know precisely what is in the pill.
The lab i use in france use Mass spectrography, wich tells you EXACTLY what is in the pill, and how much. But it requires the whole pill !
That's why i can publish precise results in pill reports, since its a quantitative test.

DDL (the lab used by ecstasydata.org) uses half the pill for testing, keeping the other half for future tests if need be. Thus, they were able to retest the "spider" pills after getting a sample of Foxy, and change the results.

I should add that they do not provide quantitative results (at least to HR organisations), and that this info did not come to me first-hand from a DDL employee, but second hand from a close reliable source. I can confidently say they keep some of the pill, but whether it's "half" or some other amount I can't state as fact.
