How much longer am I gonna be high (methadone)

I used to have a high tolerance and addiction to opiates a couple years back (IV Dilaudid among other things). Now things are more under control. I'm trying to stay away from the needle so really I just occasionally use hydrocodone and oxycodone about 20-30mg at a time has me feeling pretty good for a couple hours.

I recently had an opportunity to get some 10mg methadone pills, which I don't really have an experience with at all. I took 10mg Monday night around 8:00pm then 20mg Tuesday morning at around 11:00am. Now it's 2:00pm on Wednesday afternoon and I'm still high... 27 hours after my last dose. Wtf lol. I've never run into anything this strong. How long does this stuff usually last you guys? I know it's used in maintenance. I was on Suboxone myself a couple years back but Suboxone is no good for a high. I can see why people say Methadone withdrawal is so bad if it's this strong and lasts sooooo long.

It should be over by the 35 hour mark. You will still feel drowsy until you sleep after the effects wear off though.

Be careful man you do NOT want to deal with w/d's from methadone. TRUST ME

I don't get withdrawals from anything at the moment. I took a big almost 2 year long break since I was addicted and getting withdrawals and I'm being careful to avoid going through that again. But 35 hours? Damn. I was expecting like 12 hours. In that case, I'm gonna avoid taking any today so I can hopefully get some decent sleep tonight. I was too high the past two nights I kept waking up every hour... just kinda laid in bed getting weird dreams. Very poor sleep quality.
