How much is too much tussionex?

I'm new to the site so I'm not sure if I'm even posting in the right area. Someone help me out :) Want to know how much can I safely take of tussionex without getting sick? What's the lethal dose for Chlorpheniramine? How much do you take to feel good? I just did 4 teaspoons and chased it with 20mg of lortab pills. Any bad experiences with tussionex? All answers welcome. Thanks!
 
That should be around 60mgs of hydrocodone you are at now. What is your tolerance? I'm not sure of the dose at which Chlorpheniramine becomes dangerous but I'm sure someone will know.

Edit: I looked around and nobody seems to know the dose range at which it may become dangerous, so just try to be safe.

Well usually just 20-30 mg at a time but I know tussionex is extended release so you don't really feel it all at once. In order for a good buzz I figured I'd have to take more than normal because of this. So I'm kinda worried about the other ingredient and how harmful it is at this dose.thanks for your reply! ;)
 
Well that kind of freaks me out now. I've heard of people downing huge amounts so I'm hoping 4 teaspoons won't be bad. It's been a few hours and I'm not really feeling very much of a buzz. Mostly just sleepy.
 
I have drank about 2 1/2 shot glasses worth and was fine, i'm sure you will be also. It deff did make me a bit sleepy tho.
 
I don't know at what dose it becomes dangerous either, but high doses of chlorpheniramine can cause delirium which can be extremely unpleasant, so I would keep your doses as low as possible! Reading around, it doesn't seem to have quite the same risk as other first generation antihistamines, but caution is still advised.
 
chlorpheniramine is not that prominent in anticholinergic effects as other antihistamines. The main thing is to not take anything with serotonin effects on top of it.
 
Don't quote me on this, but I think the max recommended dose for chlorp is 50mg/day.
 
Hi JustSomeGirl:) I see u posted this yesterday and the tussionex is surely gone by now, but I wanted 2 reply anyway. Over the years I've dealt many chronic bronchitis many times so I've been prescribed my share of Tussionex. I can't say it helped too much tho, but ppl love the stuff. When I 1st took it, it sent that warm loving feeling all the way from my head to my lil toes! It was great. An that was from 1 teaspoon. But after being prescribed percocets for a couple years, my tolerance grew and the cough syrup became like water 2 me. But it still tastes good lol. I think how much u need to take depends on ur own tolerance. If ur use to taking Lortabs, then u probably do have a stronger system than some. I'm not sure of the maximum dose but the best advice I can give u, is if u can take a couple teaspoons, or even one, and get that warm happy feeling, then that's enough. I wouldn't go past that w/in a few hours. Mixing Lortabs w/it can be dangerous. Because Tussionex already has Hydrocodone like Lortabs. I have known sum1 to overdose on cough syrups containing codeine/hydrocodone. 4 teaspoons, I think u said, mixed w/20 mg's of extra hydrocodone from the Lortabs is too much. Unless u have a very strong system like I do. And even I myself wouldn't take that much. U should take ur prescribed dose, wait 30mins an then see if u need more. I think it all depends on ur tolerance, and no1 knows better than u what that may be. Is this ur 1st time using Tussionex? Do u take lortabs on a regular basis? I hope ur 0kay and u didn't end up taking too much. After being on percocets for 11yrs and just recently coming off methadone, I may not feel the happy feeling from cough syrups these days, but they can still make me incredibly drowsy, telling me its too much even for my high tolerance. Good luck &plz be careful. Its so easy to go overboard when u think u aren't feeling much effects, and then it can hit u too hard at once.
 
My friend OD with half botle and a few Valium SO be very careful and dont mix antthing just take about a quater of the botle if you use to this kind of stuf and nothings else withit
