I know that chewing your food more thoroughly helps your body get the max amount of nutrients out of it. I don't know to what degree your body does it's job and what a percentage of lost nutrients would look like, but when I'm high I can't help taking big bites and gulping food. I wonder if this would actually effect a person who works out. :?

you should chew your food until it is liquid. harder said than done I know

Mehm, I have taken your advice about chewing...and yes it is hard! My jaw gets sore toward the end of my meals! It feels like im chewing forever...however it has solved my farting problem haha. Hopefully a lot more absorption of nutrients too..

Mehm is absolutely correct that that is how many times we should chew our food. I've been trying to eat more mindfully lately but have been slipping. I would say I chew (rather big bites) of food 20-25 times. Though it really depends on what it is. It also depends on how big of bite, 'cause a smallerish bite, 20-25 times would be liquid. :P

I don't even have to try to chew my food thoroughly. It just comes naturally -- food feels so much better in my belly when it's been properly chewed! :)

I learned this the hard way when I was younger, and gave myself stomach aches by eating too quickly!

I'm totally a fast eater and don't give much time to chewing at all. I'm not sure why it is; I think I'm just generally high strung and do most things in that manner. Hasn't served me well anyways.

But please, if you're going to chew a lot, chew quietly with your mouth closed.

Sincerely,
Renz

I have never counted...I practically swallow my food whole, in as few bites as I can get away with. I've always eaten fast...shit, I do everything fast. I walk fast. I drive fast. I work fast. I can't stand being slow. I have issues.

We're go-getting kinda people. There's just no damn time to flounder and stand about. God damn.

your should try and incorporate more types of food, or food prepared in ways that does not have to be chewed so much.

sounds silly, but, you might be less "high-strung", by nature, over-time doing this.
you body will use less energy digesting, and you will be forced to be more patient taking your time to eat, and thinking more about what you are putting into your body, plus using more of what you do.

i think its important to be aware of what you are doing as much as possible, being focused on something like chewing your food, enjoying it, and contemplating what you are putting into your body are good for self-improvement!! and healthier for your body. and kinda fun too.

ive never actually counted though, i just chew it until it feels good to go

:)

absolutely, doing so also helps to attune the consciousness-es

this sort of practice should be incorporated into every cognitive and functioning aspect of life ...
sleeping eating and breathing

;)

Yeah man ^^ That's why I swear by smoothies.

Whole/Full fat milk, (steel cut) Oats and Banana's blended together is my secret weapon to gaining muscle. Easy to get down you, packs a fantastic calorific punch with shit-tonnes of nutrients and shenanigans with fuck all chewing involved!!

chew it enough to swallow it. never really counted or taken notice. i eat and drink pretty quickly. tend to take more notice when im stoned, makes me more aware of it
