How much Codeine can I take in 24 hr peroid?

I recently switched from hydrocodone to codeine as all I could get was the codeine. I am a chronic pain patient and sometimes I take the pills for fun as well as I've been on them for two years. I recently had surgery and am in quite the amount of pain, already went through hydrocodone rx and now starting codeine rx. I read the warnings and it says not to exceed 360mgs of codeine in a day. However, I am in a lot of pain and want to take one more dose of 60mgs (making my just-took dose 120) but this would out me at the total for the past 24 hrs to be 420 mg. can I do this? I am not exceeding the Tylenol 4000mg/day and I'm only 3 1/2 hrs away from the 24 hr mark of having my yesterday morning 30 mg dose.
