How much Benedryl before Delirum effects start to kick in?

It really depends on the person. I have a friend who starts hallucinating after 2 or 3 pills of benadryl (25 or 50 mg I believe). Personally I wouldn't go higher then 150, but some people can take 250 without negative side effects. I find benadryl to also have negative mental effects, even at low doses. Personally I would view more then 200 mg to be pushing it in terms of delirium, but I might be weird.

I'd say that if you aren't noticing any negative effects at 100, you can go up to 125, and if that's not noticeably bad go to 150. You can do this as high as you need to until you start noticing side effects that you don't want. You could also try combining the benadryl with other sleep aids (holy basil, theanine, chamomile, valerian, melatonin being a few common OTC ones).

^good advice. 25mg won't cause a sudden jump into delerium. It starts with a sketched-out feeling sinking in; a general feeling of something being wrong. I get this at 300mg and it actually keeps me awake then. The next threshold is dry mouth and forgetfulness, then delerium.

Noticeable delirium starts at around 100mg if my tolerance is low. My eyes start to cross around 200mg and I forget what I wanted to do around 300mg. 400mg is where the depth distortions and hallucinations really start, and I can't do anything when I take 500mg. This is also the dose at which I feel that I begin to get long-term mental impairment from individual doses. Each benadryl tablet contains 25mg of diphenhydramine. I notice negative effects from any amount.

mild deliriant effects start around 100mg. by 200mg. deliriant effects get stronger, and 250-300+ can lead to strong, unpleasant deliriant effects.

It really depends on the individual.......I take about 200mg to sleep every night and it gives me no deliriant effects.

I use to take Benadryl every night for sleep 50-75 mg, ONE time I wanted to see what it would be like to achieve the Delerient effects, I took 475 mg and was sure that I would be seeing all kinds of shit, I got real spacy and sleepy and waited for about 3 and a half hours and still couldn't see anything, I was just real real tired, never hallucinated anything, I fell asleep and stayed asleep for about 15 hours. So I don't know what the deal is with the hallucinations I sure didn't get them myself

i used to use 50mg to get to sleep. now i need 100-125mg. kinda sucks cuz it leaves me tired in the morning and its hard to get outta bed, but if i don't take it i'm up all night. fml.

475mg is not enough to hallucinate if you've got a tolerance and I would seriously recommend against it because of the side-effects and hangover. I have never taken this amount at once, but a true benadryl 'trip' apparently starts at around 700mg... never take that much... if you aren't experienced with high doses, you may not even notice anything that IS going on. You should at least have seen transparent spider-like noise around objects or distorted distances... but it's not fun.
and no, I'm not going to destroy this thread too... lol
