Hey I decided it finally join BL anyways Ive just started experimenting with IVing & have a few questions.

quite a while ago I shot some oxy up. a few hrs later got some meth & used the same rig to shoot the meth.
this is fairly safe isnt it?

I was told by a friend that bacteria builds up over time but its pretty safe to re-sure the same needle in the same night as its not long enough for much bacteria to build. the only problem really being the needle is a bit more blunt. is this correct?

Ive also re-used a same needle i hadnt used in a few weeks
how dangerous is this?

basically i need to know how much time it takes for an un-used needle to build up enough bacteria to be a problem. I dont care about whether its a bit blunt.

my friend it's ok to use a needle a few times before it gets blunt enough to cuz any problems that sounds about right.

he also says that u should get rid of any needles that havnt been used in 6 months due to the bacteria build up. im just wondering if 6 months sounds about right?

Use a new needle every time. Your friend says 6 months? 6 hours is the most I would ever think about using my syringe after again, but I would never re-use them now, especially after seeing this pic:

A lot of people are taught improper, unsafe IV technique from friends. In fact, I don't know anybody on here that has posted here saying that they were actually taught how to IV safely at first by a friend or fellow junkie. Do your own research on anything that you are doing to your own body.

Here is a good place to start.

You do mean needles that haven't been used at all surely, I don't IV but 6 months for something that your gonna shove into one of you veins ?, if he's talking about a needle that has been used then I wouldn't take any more advice from this person.

The above covers it anyhow, new needle every time the link here on BL gives you a good run down

Yea don't do that its terrible advice. I used to have terrible IV technique when I was into needles and did a lot wrong that could have cost me big time. These people here know what they're talking about take their advice

There's a huge thread on safe IV technique search for it in the search thing up top, a lot of time the big threads either say "Mega thread" or "big and dandy" in it try to include those in ur search

But I just got home from work and its 3 in the morning so I'm not going to be able to find it for you I'm tired as shit but wanted to give some advice to someone who needs it before bed :)

Read this thread thoroughly, http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/threads/...ation-MEGATHREAD-and-FAQ-II-show-me-the-blood

Tons of useful knowledge on proper IV technique.

I try not to ever use a rig more than twice, but I have been desperate with no fresh ones and no pharmacy or exchange open, and jabbed some dull shit into my arm. It really fucks up your veins, causing a lot more damage, if you use dull needles. It may not seem like a big deal in the beginning, but your veins won't stay healthy and easy to hit forever. I wish I would have used better technique all of those years ago to save my veins.

After you use a needle, you need to throw it away and use a new one. Needles are not expensive and re-using one will greatly increase risks of infection or diseases.
