How many people do drugs?!

Im 14 and live in northern Illinois outside a VERY small town(~50-100 people) and new to my knowledge, A LOT more people do drugs than i thought...

me and 2 friends were driving around the town and one pointed out the window and said "thats where the coke-head lives"(woman with ~7kids with different fathers.
there's a town drug dealer
The one bar that is in the town is stuffed with people that smoke weed(not bashing weed as a bad drug, i love the stuff) the bartenders, ~80% of people in the bar are regular potheads. alot of the middle age people in the town do too. there are either 2 or 3 child molesters. and im probably missing some but you get the point...

Am i seeing the worst of it or is it like this everywhere? Driving through the town you wouldn't suspect a thing about the people in it. its like the drop-off for all the rural low-lifes around here. im not one to talk(smoke weed, sleeping pills,cough syrup) but seriously, is anyone else dissapointed in all this shit?

Anyone have some points of view or IMO's on this?
 
Probably about 20% of the population of the US consumes cannabis. This is what I remember from official statistics.
 
Yes a lot of people do drugs. You're 14 so you still have a chance not to make the decisions to use most of them. There is tons of people who smoke pot but pot isn't shit. Worry more about the other 20% in the bar who only drink, as the high ones will be less likely to cause trouble. Tons of people do coke also. Drugs are everywhere so be careful and use responsibly if you so choose.
 
Imagine living in the ghetto of the big city.
Then youll have some stories to tell.
The stories will come with time too.
Dnt make them stories about bad decisions for God's sake tho.
 
^yeah i think the ghetto's got the most drug-users.

I agree, but i can only say i like to find out what other drugs feel like, drugs are up there in my list of interests, i'd never do the hard stuff(main ones i can think of are meth,pcp,coke,crack,heroin) But i like psycodelics and experimenting with them
 
Weed is generally a pretty safe drug, the primary exception being people your age using it. I'd reccomend waiting till you're older.
 
Shrooms and lsd are very physically safe... But they can have a deep impact on the undeveloped mind
 
you guys really believe that weed has no effect on a developing brain?

It definitely stops emotional growth.... my brother started smoking weed at 15 and hes 22 and hes still 15

i'll tell you that when i was 14 i said the same exact thing and now I would honestly do pretty much anything.

i read over my thread last night and was thinking the same thing. But when you see a single women that's addicted to cocaine and is trying to raise 7 kids w/o a father, THATs whats disappointing about drug use. instead of buying coke she should put money towards shit for her kids.
