i appreciate your post. your mention of the "ritual of sniffing" that it is also an addictive process.
I am new to bluelight. I have been doing drugs since I was 11, at that time pot and alcohol. then in 9th grade, a girl turned me onto qualudes (showing my age!). By 13 I was saving my allowance and babysitting money for ludes. i did speed during the school week, which I snagged from the lady I babysat for....she had a cookie jar full of it. And then ludes on the weekends. somehow or another I never got caught at school or at home.
anyway made it thru college (a little beer, a little smoke, tried lsd, tried coke)..but pretty much stayed away from pills for some years.
then met xanax. love at first site. I was prob 29 when I tried my first xanax.
that affair lasted about 6 years. then came vicodin...my drug of choice.
i have been struggling with chronic pain and vic addiction for 10 years. have never been to rehab. have not been arrested.
i do have a job that i love and i am married to a good guy. no kids.
anyway...i am 45, and 3 months ago my pain was so bad. And I am trying very hard to lose weight so I have been working out even when I am in very bad pain. a "friend" said he could help with my pain,,,but i would have to snort it.
i have been snorting a bag of heroin a day for 3 months. i know that seems lightweight to some...but hey i could do a lot more if i had the money.
one day i did 2-1/2 bags, and that on top of my rx for (6) 10 mg vicodin a day,,,,I was feeling very good.
I think 3 bags a day would be perfect.
But I haven't "gone there". And I have not IVed
Just keep snorting.
and I LOVE THE RITUAL.
I love chopping up the sandy powder with the razor. I can prepare the powder for a full hour before i do one toot.
I love it. i try to make the one bag last so long. but my tolerance to opiates is so high.
anyway i don't know where I am going with this. I guess i came to bluelight to be as safe as i can doing what I am doing.
part of me wants to IV so bad. but a larger part of me knows i would be fucked for life if I tried it one time.
i need a new ritual... this one costs money that i don't have.
anyway thanks for sharing. I really relate to what u said. have experienced the peer pressure to go to the iv and just day by day keep saying "no thanks" even though i want to try it so bad. thank god/dess i have been able to say no thus far.
but i know all it takes is one weak moment. 45 years without trying heroin, and in 1 morning, everything changed.
IVing could be the same way. I can't let it happen. just can't. Oh and I do not judge anyone for IVing...I am envious if anything.

I'd like to make a mention that if you want to IV, don't. I love it, most people who do love it, but it's the worst of the worst. It's not as bad as non IV users make it out to be, but it's easier to spread infection (even if you are the only one to use your needle) and it's possible to kill yourself in more ways than 1. My father died from a combination of things, one of those was re-using a needle he never cleaned. By introducing dirty old blood in a needle back into his body he ended up with a blood infection. It ended up spreading between the vertebrae and it was a very painful experience and stuck with him till the day he died.
If I could go back I would have stopped after the first time I shot it. I did it once and decided that was enough. After my 2nd time the rest was history. If you snort your drug of choice, then stick to snorting. Track marks and the dangers aren't worth the high and the money you save.

Over the years i have manage to give up Alcohol, pot, pills etc but not iv amphetamine.

I do not but I envy those that can without giving it a second thought. I'm too much of a hypercondriac to ever inject anything, I would be a nervous wreck for months worrying that something bad happened.

They don't usually mind because I have better/safer/HR/sterile technique and watching junkies prep dirty shots makes my skin crawl.
So yeah, I fucking love the process of prepping a shot, I really really really miss the register, but I don't get that anymore since these days I only plug.

Ten year ago in our circle of friends only a few. After i went to prison, come home, did my own thing, i had heard stories nearly most of the circle were either doing that now or smok'n it.

It is a weird phenomena when you start to get those weird goose bumps when your prepping whatever it is you are(this goes for all ROA's i've even had a chemical that had a weird reaction nearly every time you took it in that, 5 to 10 minutes later you would get "mentholated" like burps, at first it was disgusting but then later on as long as they aren't huge belches it was always a sign that in literally about 30ish seconds to a couple minutes max my entire body/mind would begin to relax)and you wonder why, but its all obvious that your body just knows whats up. Its like when you react to something without it actually happening, like you feel cold suddenly and think of extreme cold/get a couple of shivers or something.
I don't IV as that makes me to antsy and i'm one weird MF'er where of course I like the rush but its nothing I need, weirdly too, I kinda like the feeling of say IM'ing opis. Its so much more gradual, I begin to feel a tingle like sensation overcome me, then I notice how euphoric a turn my mind has taken, and slow waves of bliss begin to penetrate me. I'd imagine that would be agitating if you were sick, but i've never been. Its odd too as usually i'm the guy who likes everything as fast or extreme as you can get it but with opi's the rush/sensation that comes along with IM'ing/plugging is very blissful. I've found myself curling/uncurling/writhing around in pleasure in a soft blanket after plugged O-DT! Plus the sensation lasts a solid 15ish minutes before it begins to fade whereas the few times i've had IV opi's it just slammed into me like a freight train but leveled out pretty quickly after only a moment or so.
I feel like I couldn't call the whole, inject and you never look back thing BS as some people are really liable to things like that, for them the feelings snorting provides will just never be enough again, it gets them right but all thats on their mind is reliving that rush again. Luckily with most things I can quench my thirst then back off but even more lucky is that i'm far to afraid to IV myself. The second the strap is tied around my arm and the vein pokes out and I begin to move the needle, my mind instantly flashes to me stabbing right through my veins or simply missing the shot. I never go through with it.
Edit- Its not my style to break apart paragraphs that discuss the nearly the same topic the entire time, takes up to much space, though this one did have a pretty nasty bite considering I could have formed multi paragraphs but didn't. Lol @ the no periods thing though, that was pretty funny(read my prior posts if you care that much about it as my style seemed to eat you up least claim the right things though, whilst I won't claim to have better spelling or grammar use than you, I really doubt you ascend that much higher than me though...ha)! I also tend to ramble like a MF'er really...whenever, get over it brother! Its barely more than 10 lines a piece but I understand if its to much to read for ya...

Yeah; speed a few times, But mostly ketamine & mxe.
I'm quitting IV use though, while I still can. I'd like to say I'm quitting the needle alltogether but that's not true. For ketamine and MXE IM will always be my RoA of choice. It really intensifies the experience and it's much easier to land yourself in a hole when IM'd.
Im a rush seeker as well. Thats the only reason i shot anything to begin with was curiosity of the rush. And i LOVED it.

That sounds scary to me. For one I'm not sure how you know if you're in a muscle or that it's an acceptable muscle for injection.
One time I got ativan IMed when I was in the hospital and I remember it hurting a bit. I think there's only a few drugs that it would be worth it to IM, but I don't know enough about the subject.

luckily all the times i had ativan shot into me in the ER, i was having too much of a panic attack to notice.
i used to, and no longer do.
i had two life threatening abscesses before i stopped shooting up, and stopped using heroin.
i was always certain i would not be stupid about it, but things happen. mistakes are made. and when needles are involved, that just isn't acceptable.

IM'ing is easier than IV'ing believe me and it comes on in a totally different way. Its pretty much like I stated, IV hits like a freight train builds but ends in seconds where as IM builds in waves that last minutes or longer. If done properly and your muscular(I know you are your one of the only people I see who knows how sweet exercising whilst fucked is...)it doesn't hurt much or for long. Do it in the thigh, well I guess thats where I always go, ass my hurt less but you need another to do that as far as I know. It doesn't take a lot of knowledge at all and the main thing is sterility.
Yeah IM (and SC aka "skin popping") carries a much higher risk of absess. The only things I ever IM'd came from sterile amps. Ativan probably hurt due to the make up of the injectable solution being thicker than water along with i believe (i could be wrong) a higher alcohol content in the solution as well.
