I've only broken two, the first one was a big loss to me though.

I used to same glass piece for 4 years, the first real pipe i ever bought and i broke it on vacation at the beach this past summer :(. Bumped it off a table outside on our balcony and it shattered.

Other thing I broke was an ash catcher, but I didn't shatter it I just tipped it into a table and it snapped the female joint part off. Weed star glass.. never again.

Luckily I've never broken anybody elses glass, I would feel really bad if I did that so I'm always extra careful when I'm holding my friends pieces.
 
Ive never broken my own piece unintentionally. The only time I broke something of mine was when I was a wee teenager, riding my bike. I got hit by a car while riding, my bike was sucked under this guys surburban, and I went flying because I was standing on my pedals. I had a bowl and bag on me. The second I saw flashing lights comming tword me about twenty seconds after being knocked out I smashed my piece against the ground, and threw the baggie in a bush. a firefighter saw me do it and told my dad when he went to go get my mangled bike. lol, I shouldve just kept it.

Other wise ive had a girl break my 350 dollar bong and 100 dollar ashcatcher with 8 percs. I told the three other people in the room if you break it, you pay for it. They all agreed. Five s sminutes later, she breaks it, and trys to get out of paying me for it(one week old bong) by giving me excuses. I made it pretty simple for her though, she wouldnt have to pay me back if she didnt mind if I shattered her windsheild. I had the money to me within an hour =p

So I go out and buy a new bong.

my friend brings his bong and bowl, both are new, two days after I got my replacement bong. he pulls it out of his carrying case thing, says to me oh I gotta be careful, it seperates. As soon as he said that it seperated and the bottom half shattered on the floor. Going to clean it up he tripped and cracked his bowl in half in his pocket. So he broke two brand new pieces in 30 seconds lol.

Ive watched a few people break their own pieces, and mine, but ive never done it myself by accident, to mine, or anyone elses.
 
I personally haven't broken one but I have seen my partner break 2 .. all when cleaning them.
Now found a more beneficial way that works like a treat ;)
 
After years of smoking I'm pretty proud of my track record. I've owned 6 hand pipes, one bubbler, 2 bongs and 2 meth-style pipes (eucalyptus vaporizers the headshop calls them ;) ). I've only broken one of the hand pipes and one of the meth pipes, the latter of which is easy because the glass is thin and the stem long. Someone else broke one of my bongs.

I haven't broken a pipe in years, which is cool because I'm smoking out of the same pieces I was smoking from 3 or 4 years ago. The only pipes I've ever broken I broke back in high school. Now, I mostly smoke in my house and dropping a piece on my wooden floor doesn't typically break it, so even if I drop a pipe it won't break. Tile is the bong killer.
 
I've broken a glass bowl from trying to clean it once. The glass was not thick at all. Another time I was using my buddy's cheapo bong on loan, and accidentally cracked it smoking salvia, dmt, etc. He was nice about it and didn't care. The bong was fully functional with the cracks, and we decided to smash it for fun later on. My mom had the honor of smashing the first bong I ever bought, RIP. I have dropped my current chillum/one hitter a couple times and it has cracked, but it isn't broken yet *knocks on wood*

So I've broken 1 bowl (out of at least eight pieces) and if you wanna get technical, one bong. Not bad for 7 years.
 
I have broken so many pipes in my life, i literally have no idea how many iv broken. Iv been smoking weed for 15 years, and i live in a house that is mostly tile. Tile is a glass piece killer.

Slightly off topic my favorite pipe death story: I went on a cruise with my family for christmas years ago, my brother and I shared a room, and we managed to buy from weed from a shady dude in Nassau, in the Bahamas. We bought a cheap little glass pipe at some vendor on on the island and managed to smuggle the weed back on the cruise ship in my bra or something and then had got to try this awesome Jamaica weed we bought. The last night of the cruise we smoked every thing we had left cause we didnt want to risk anything with customs. So We smoked our last bowl at the very back of the boat the last night out on a high balcony. When we were done threw it over board. Like some titanic shit. Good memories.

Lol. Unfortunately I've broken: 3 glass bongs. 3 dry pipes. 2 down stems. 1 one hitter.

I now have a glass bong I don't use. Got a 3 foot acrylic that I got on 420 it's beast. I won a 2 foot acrylic hookah on 420 in a mystery bag. 1 bubbler I've had for about 3 years. 4 dry pipes (one is 5 years old)
 
I think I have only broken one unintentionally, perhaps there is another one in there I am forgetting about. I have broke a few intentionally just out of frustration or when I was quitting smoking for a while as well. Any glass I have ever broken has thankfully been mine and never my only piece (except in the case of quitting).
 
I am really shocked at how many of you can actually keep up with how many bowls you have broken. I must be one klutzy stoner.

Also now I feel old. hahaha.
 
Only one that I remember, It was my new glass bowl and it fell on the floor in my basement after I got blazed outta my mind.
 
I've never broken anything of mine/others, but I hang around a bunch of idiots who often break bongs. My first bong my mother smashed after finding it, and my second received a similar fate. The third one I bought, brought it to my friends house, and then went home. Come over the next day to find that my friend's cousin broke it (and this was during a bad streak, where my friend had 3 of his bongs break), but that was fine. Now I have my current bong which I've had for a couple years - she doesn't look like she's going to break anytime soon. Don't buy crappy small bongs, they'll break.
 
In my 7 years of smoking I've broken quite a few pieces, almost all of them were my own. I think I once broke someones slide. I've also had other people break my pieces. Seems that MY pieces never stay around for too long...

I just broke my steamroller about a week and a half ago. I've broken 2-3 chillums (lost 1 too), at least 2 bowls, a few bong slides....in general, quite a bit of glass. All of it is from stupid stuff, like standing up when its on my lap, or moving something and it knocks over, or moving something and it knocks over something else that THEN knocks over the piece. My luck can get ridiculous sometimes lol. On the flip side i've also caught a few pieces mid air that should be shattered now but for whatever reason I was able to snatch them inches from death......ridiculous stuff happens sometimes hah.

Caught a bowl like a hackey sack one time, bounced it up and caught it with my foot a second before it was to shatter....I guess my stoner hackeysack days paid off heh.

No where NEAR as bad as my friend though, or his brother. They've broken several thousands of dollars of glass between them, quite a bit of it (probably 1/4) was other peoples too that they then had to replace, including some of my own bowls.

Smoke for long enough and its just bound to happen statistically. I have hand tremors so I guess its more likely to happen with me. I got a metal chillum now, that way if I ever break my only glass (aka 2 weeks ago) I still have 1 piece left that will never break.

but i am notorious for allowing other people to borrow mine and it never fails that they get returned in multiple pieces. i suppose i should learn how to say "hell no" when people ask to borrow my frail glass contraptions. nice guys always get shit on!

edit: two years later, my number remains the same: 1 downstem. However, I've had my friends break an ungodly amount of glass.
 
Unfortunately around 5-8 by having them on my lap, and getting up forgetting they were there or accidentally knocking them over.
