This depends on alot of things that are different for every person, you are going to have to find this out for yourself. If you are trying to avoid the precipitated withdrawals then you should wait until you start to feel normal withdrawal symptoms (dont have to wait until full onset, just until your body physically needs more). Don't worry about hurting while the suboxone kicks in, it does its thing pretty fast.

The best way to gauge when you're ready, is to wait unitl you are in moderate to severe withdrawals. Simple as that. Hold out as long as you can after your last dose of whichever opiate/opioid you are using.
