My wife quit a 2 pack-a-day habit about 2 months ago & has been sick with some virus ever since. I tried cold turkey & was a failure. :(
I'm down from a pack-a-day to about 3-5 cigs daily. I'm trying the old 'weening' off them now. I still love the flavor though. :\

I voted a pack a day awhile ago in this thread, which was when I drank every night. It's a little different now. It all depends on whether or not I'm drinking or doing drugs.

While sober, it's maybe 3 a day. If I'm drinking at night, it's a pack that night. For the drugs, it varies depending on the drug. Never more than one pack in a 24 hour period though.

it's down to just socially now. before, it was probably half a pack to a pack a day. probably would be much worse if it weren't so difficult for me to get cigarettes. none of my friends who are over 18 is willing to buy me them. i suppose this is a blessing in disguise.

Zilch... quit nicotine completely approx. 1.5 years ago. After bookoo attempts, literally in the hundreds probably. 8) I think my use of other substances went WAY up too. Damn...

I've been going through almost a pack a day for the past week because my friends are being freeloading bastards. I'd say that I usually smoke anywhere from 5-12 cigarettes a day, and the amount changes depending on if I have any money for a pack and who I'm hanging out with.

I smoked for 4 years from 16 on, then quit for six months, and ever since then I can't stomach the taste of cigarette smoke. I've been smoking here and there, maybe a quarter of a pack a week if that. I've been on that regiment for around 3 months, almost to the point of completely quitting. But they still taste gross to me, and I only smoke them to get away from my desk (smoking loung right next to front desk where I sit all day).

I also experienced NO physical withdrawel symptoms when I quit first, and I had been a heavy smoker for 4 straight years. Is this highly uncommon, or perhaps the physical aspect of withdrawel is only in the mind?

Pack + , for 44 years, quit date was 9/4/07 Thursday was 100 days cigarette free. Cold Turkey...was totally wired for a week, leveled off at a month, now they stink, bad, wonder why I ever did. Still kinda look for one after a meal, and have to remember I dont anymore...My mom used to say "theres nobody more self righteous than a reformed whore" . Pretty much me. I don't criticize anyone around me tho, unless they ask. I've realized smokers are a dying breed, and cigarettes smoke you more than you smoke them.

i also want to add that i attempted quitting a few weeks ago and succeeded for 4 days but i started up again. mind you i'm only smoking a few cigs a day again compared to the pack a day i was smoking before though.

Terrible habit for me. About a pack and a half - two packs a day now. Really I believe its causew I drink so much, and when I'm drunk I smoke like a freight train.
