How many attempts does it take to inject into a vein?

Its funny, I use less now than I used to but unless I had a habit with oxy, Ritalin(feels similar to coke IV, don't though) and it was the middle of winter it takes me one poke every time. I have memories of poking myself in painnother being able to get it but that was either methadone in a 10-20ml syringe or when the pills & cold weather FUCKED my veins.

I only inject heroin, methamphetamine & micron filtered opiate pills now and my veins have healed a lot so yeah. One, two pokes maximum and never use a tourny so I think im doing well after 8 years & only 1 half collapsed vein & I have the vein care knowledge from bluelight to thank for that :)

Btw I don't understand how some people find it so hard. I taught myself & I've missed 5 or less times in 8 years. The times I've missed even a tiny bit of meth I've caused much pain and groaning but hot compresses have prevented getting an abcess. It's not hard if you have a steady hand, you enter almost parallel to the spot and you get it big enough and pull blood back. Its not hard. A lot of people either move out of the vein around now or go through thevEinstein.

Really though, if your that shits learn with water coz I couldn't think of much worse than someone's dirty, untrained hands piercing my body!

My veins didn't start off bouncy at all, but injecting a fairly large volume is starting to stretch them out. I have 2 veins that tend to fill up now on one hand. Nurses weren't getting my hands consistently on the first try. I can't go in parallel, they are too deep. I need about a 45 degree angle.

My veins were nice today. I got it on the first try. I think it's just going to take a bit more practice and some time for my veins to stretch out a bit for me to get them consistently. Hopefully they won't be scarred up by the time I reach that point.

If you miss a vein, just go above the missed location. (Never go below). You can go directly above. Always, aim 'toward the heart'. Veins have valves which prevent the backflow of blood/fluids. Hand veins move around a lot. If you can't get the AC, there should be a juicy one posterior to your forearm.

Took me twice today which is unusual. Usually its once.

It is cold though. When I had a giant ms-contin/oxy/ritalin habit in winter id end up crying with holes everywhere but now im on methadone & only shoot a couple times a week so my veins have healed.

Ugh - no plans of doing that ever! I've come a long way from being uncomfortable with injecting myself, but not far enough to stick a needle in my neck! The 'rush' I get is all negative anyway. I experienced that once when the tourniquet was forgotten until most of the drug was in my vein. Not fun, but others get worse symptoms so I'm lucky.
Things have been going well. The last 4 were all successful on the first try. Adjusting my hand position appears to have made a huge difference. I actually might get a break from the clinic in the few weeks and try things out at home for a while :)

hit first time everytime ever sense i started 3 years ago. Hit the crook of either arm everytime. about a year ago tho my arm crooks were gettin to scabed up so i had to move around to wrist/foramrs/ect . . . id still usually hit in 1-2 pokes in the more difficult spots.

Usually I hit and split either arm crook with the first shot, but if I'm dehydrated then it could take a few shots which is a damn tease.

Tying off just above my bicep and below my shoulder and always in the bend of my arm unless I had missed recently or had messed up veins at the time, but It really all depends on how close to the surface your veins are and if you've gone in the same place over and over... Give that spot a break and go somewhere else for a while. It's a person to person basis really bc not everyone has the same veins in the same spot or at the same depth...
