How long to wait until taking benzos after opiates?

Hey guys, had a specific question and couldn't find anything that really related. So I ate about 70-75mg of Oxycodone earlier which is a pretty hefty dose for me (usually 40-55). It was at 4 or 5pm and it is now 11pm, and to be honest I'm still pretty sedated and nodding out a little.

Now I've got some xanax, and would love to take some either to prolong the nod or just to help ease me to sleep. I take about 1mg of Klonopin a day, with xanax as needed (recently around 1mg a day). I took .5mg as prescribed this morning.

How safe would it be to take xanax now, or how long should I wait? Basically, how long do the respiratory effects last with oxycodone? Just wanted to get a little help before I did anything. Thanks!

The CNS depression effects probably last as long as you can still feel the effects of the oxycodone. If you are going to try this combination, take a bit less xanax then usual, normally you won't need as much, and see how you feel. Make sure to leave space in between re-dosing if you feel you have to.

It really depends on what your tolerance is up to, ie- how often you are taking the oxy. I agree with Mr. Blonde, definitely take a little less xanax than you normally would. I know benzos kill, but I think it usually happens when someone doesn't know whats up and takes way too much in combo with other stuff like opiates.
