I've now been back on Adderall 10mg per day for a week, and have realized that I probably really do medically benefit from it. I don't get the speedy buzz I used to love about this drug anymore, but that's not what I'm seeking. All I want is the clarity of mind and the straightforward, linear thinking and ability to stay on task that this drug brings. So far, no tolerance has developed to these effects.
I went a month a few years back, using 10~30mg of Adderall every day, along with 20~40mg of DXM, in an attempt (only semi-successful) to keep the speedy buzz from disappearing. It wreaked havoc on my mood, sleep cycle, and blood pressure, and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. I had no idea at the time how dangerous a combo amphetamines and DXM were, and how much strain I was putting on my circulatory system. I'm really lucky I didn't have a stroke, no joke. Plus, yes, the effects stayed very noticeable, but they didn't stay euphoric.
I no longer use low doses of DXM to potentiate other drugs. But I have developed a taste for occasional recreational doses of the stuff. How many days would I have to be off Adderall before I could safely take a 300~400mg dose of DXM? With daily dosing and a relatively long half life, I assume amphetamines reach a steady state serum concentration after a number of days or weeks of dosing. The question is, would I have to wait 4~5 half lives after my last Adderall dose, ensuring that there was only trace amounts of it left in my body, before dosing the DXM, or would just one day without dosing it be enough?
