How long have you *personally* stored LSD blotter without any loss of potency?

Hi all,

I just tried some strong Mad Hatters and I have this crazy idea to put a few in the freezer for long-term storage. And I mean LONG TERM. I'm 34 now and I figure there will eventually come a day when I lose my connects. But it would be nice to tear open my first pension cheque on my 65th birthday and pop a couple tested-and-true tabs.

I've wrapped them in tinfoil and put them in a small, air-tight tupperware container along with a couple packs of silica gel. This is now in the freezer.

SO - I have two questions.

One - do you think this method will suffice for decades-long storage? There's an Erowid article about a party in honor of Hoffmann's 100th b-day where, to everyone's shock, someone broke out a vial of the mythical Sandoz L from 1951 (!!!) and everyone reported virtually NO loss of potency.

See: http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/lsd/lsd_article2.shtml

FUCKING AWESOME! But this was powder in a brown glass tube. Maybe it was even filled with an inert gas? I know that's ideally what I should do but I just don't want the cost and bother of dealing with gases.

So my second question is - What's the longest that you *personally* have stored blotter without any loss of potency? And how did you pull it off?

Thanks everyone...

the longest I've stored blotter is about 3 years with no noticable loss of potency. I took half a sheet and put it in tin foil, made sure not to rinkle the foil at all so the it was nice and snug around the paper. Then I took a hard cover book and slammed the acid in the center of the book, then I took those thick rubber bands you get at the grocery store and rubber banded the book shut really tightly. Then I stuck the book in my freezer. Like I said three years later there wasnt a noticeable drop in potency... I got this method from a friend who is quite a bit older then me and he said he'd been using that technique since the 70s and the longest he'd ever let some go was like 10 or 15 years...

I have stored blotter in the freezer for 10 years without losing potency. Keep in an airtight container.

I have stored acid for 5 years wrapped in aluminium foil, put that in a plastic baggie, then that in a plastic baggie full of anhydrous MgSO4 as dessicant, then put this in a freezer. No potency loss noticed, and I expect this to apply for decades afterward potentially, until I eat it or the freezer defrosts for an extended period (>5 days).

You need to make sure the container is glass - that way air can't get through. Air can get through plastic.

I've stored it for 15 years without loss of potency. I wrap mine in foil and store inside a ziplock bag inside a glass mason jar in the freezer. Stored this way, I'd expect it to last decades if needed.

I have never stored LSD in a freezer since I was afraid of it being ruined by condensation or something...

But when storing blotter in a fridge with all the necessary precautions (foil, airtight/lightproof container, desiccant), I can *testify* that they start losing potency after six months or so. After a year, I have to take at least 8 blotters to achieve the effects I had by just taking 5 blotter right after purchase.

So I guess from what the others say that you can potentially keep LSD for years in a freezer, but in a fridge don't store for more than a few months if you want them to retain their full power...
