I checked google I swear.

I ask here because I assume people here would know why I'd want to know how long to get 50ml of water from about 40C to around 1-2C because somebody here has probably done it many many times. Freezer is new and reliable and stays around minus 18-20C.

Most times I've done it it seemed pretty cold which is probably fine or I left it too long and it froze over the top layer which I don't think ruins anything anyways but I'd like to get things as perfect as possible.

I have a thermometer but it's kinda hard to get an accurate reading when there isn't even an inch of water to cover it.

Thanks!

I did a quick attempt. It doesn't seem to understand given the number of factors involved. Even more basic questions seem to fail. It tried to convert 40 celcius to 1 celcius...

Excuse my naivety but why are you doing it?

Use hot boiling water, it cools at faster rate than cool water.
