I was doing Fentanyl 100Mcg patches for the past 2 weeks, and today I was out, but I had a sub, so I did it. It was bad, apparently the stuff wasn't out yet, even though I felt like crap. I started withdrawaling. This is the first time I have ever precipitated withdrawal in myself, and it's freaking me out. I just want to know when the precipitation end and when I can take a dose that will actually work.

I should also mention that I do somewhat feel the suboxone. There are certain aspects of the withdrawal that are there, and those ones suck, and others aren't. For example: I usually get teared up eyes, yawn a lot, have aches and pains, RLS, diarrhea, maybe a few other minor ones. But this time I got diahrrea, real bad RLS (which has kind of subsided since I took a clonidine).

How long did you wait after you last took a patch? 4mgs of suboxone is a lot of medicine for a 2 week user so even if you weren't in moderate withdrawl before you ate the sub then you might feel slightly uncomfortable but it will prevent RLS, which is what I just can't stand........... If not the most horrible torture one should have to go threw. I've personally have never done opioids without having a Sub on me. I've always had a sub or at least a few more to get my threw the nights and mornings. You should be ok with not using for 2 days then you may get moderate withdrawl example hotflashs, anxiety.

so are you saying since I took the sub and it pushed me into withdrawal, my withdrawals should only last as long as a sub dose give maybe and extra 24 hours? If that's the case I don't think I should do the rest of the sub at all.

I once took 8 mg subs too early in rehab once. I had a big h habit and I went into HORRIBLE precipitated wd. for about six hours until I was able to get a couple hours of sleep ( the worst part of wd for me is the rls too. I had to move every part of my body every three seconds that whole six hours while ZFREEZING and sweating my ass off. I went thru twenty heated blankets LOL) it wasn't untill 12 more hours after that I felt normal enough to change out of a sweatsuit and shower. those 12 hours weren't nearly as bad but still sucky. the doc also told me to wait as long as possible to take another dose of sub after that happened cause its best not to overload it if u go into precipitated wd.

HORRIBLE experience, I feel for u.

edit: also I am pretty sure the more sub u take to go into precipitated wd, the longer it will last.

Thanks for the info. But the PW's have gone away and I did the last of my sub, it didn't cause any more PW's, but I don't really feel it either. It's strange, it's almost like I feel normal. No withdrawals, but not high either (not that suboxone gets you high, but i think you know what i mean).

It made me wonder. If taking suboxone too soon after a last dose, it precipitates withdrawal, making it shorter but more intense, pushing all the opiates out of your brain. It made me wonder, will my withdrawals last as longer now that I had PW's, or would it be the same amount of time that I would have withdrew had I not had PW?

Also I am trying to quit. Last week was pretty rough for me. My mom and I got those Fentanyl patches and she overdosed and died. That's why I stopped doing them, and wanted to do the 1 1/2 subs that I had, and then just quit. I have quit so many times, but obviously that mes I have relapsed so many times. But a lot of the problem was that my mom always had pills and shared them with me, and it was so hard to stay clean when you live in a house where someone always has pills. Now that she is gone, it makes sense for me to try and stay clean. I want to be clean, so I am hoping that after the sub wears off, my WD's wont be that bad because I went through those PW's.

Anyways, I do plan to stop, and the last 3 times I relapsed was because of my mom's scripts. But it should be easier now. Plus ever since my mom died from OD it kind of makes me sick to think about doing more hard opiates like dope, fentanyl, OCs, etc. But I don't even want to do percs or vics now, it all is just getting boring, and more importantly I am tired of being broke.

New poster here, 25 yr old from Ohio. I have always came to BL to attempt to educate myself on what i was getting myself into. Anyway, I just wanted to reply to you about being able to relate to you and your mother sharing pills. My mother has gone through multiple spinal fusions, hip surgeries, and a few other things but she is prescribed to quite a few high potent opiate medication and she would see me WDing and always help me out feeding me what she had. I had to move out and actually not talk to here for awhile while I was getting clean for it to work. Even to this day when I go visit her, I get the biggest mind fucked trigger just knowing all I have to do is ask. Just wanted top express that. Sorry to hear about your mother. Deep down, I have a feeling my mom is not too far off =(

yes the RLS i more noticeable with precepitated WD, its normally over in 4-6 hours in my experience no matter what dose of sub you take. I mean its still minor wd up to 12 hours but it wont be hell or much worse than normal wd.

New to bl i just switched from 25mgs of methadone went 36 hours if not longer my dr scribed me 16mgs took 8mgs precipitated wds worse then when i went cold turkey off a gram of h the pharmacy told me take the other one and you will be fine in 5 to 10 miniutes.. bs i had the worse night of my life went to the dr today scribes me 20mgs what the f*ck i took 12mgs today wds not as bad but if i knew this i would of tapered down more. just want to share this with everyone making the switch

I can relate to both of you as far as getting meds from your mom. My son and myself used to go through the same drill. Thankfully I got off of all the opiates and have been on suboxone for 8 months. It was definitely the best thing for both of us. He's clean now, working and has a beautiful girl that loves him like crazy. I had to make the move, I was helping to make my son a junkie. It was making me suicidal knowing what I was helping my son to become. Bless you both, it seems like your on the right track.

You'll feel better,Methadone builds up in your system over time,so you probably have quite a bit of it in your system from being on opioid replacement therapy.once it's all cleared out,the sub should be fine.I know the clinic I go to the doctor wants people on 30 mg's of methadone or lower before switching to subs, and be in full withdrawal for like 72+ hours before their first bupe dose.

I recently started methadone, and chose it over bupe because for me it would have been a hassle to be in full blown w/d,then pay an outrageous price for the script, all for a partial agonist that really doesn't help my cravings.
Methadone is for me,I know people say the w.d is worse, but I honestly have no plans of coming off anytime soon, and it eliminates my cravings for intravenous Dilaudid or morphine.

But I do know bupe works for a huge number of people, and if it works for you then all the power to ya mate!

I just had this happen to me,but it wasn't that bad really. It was very weird though.2 days ago I took a 40mg oxycontin OP(orally),then yesterday Itook half of a 40mg OP and about 300mg tramadol. Then just about 30 min ago,I shot about 2mg of suboxoxne, and immediatly felt anxious and a bit dizzy.I found this kinda weird because oxy doesn't last that long for me,and it certainly never lasted till the next day for me.I think it was because it was an OP,and it releases the oxy slowly.
Does anybody know how long the new oxy OP's last for?

I thought it was supposed to last 12 hours but I'm not sure.

Anyway, precipitated withdrawals can very it seems from being a little uncomfortable and pretty short, like half an hour, to being horrible, and pretty long, up to three or four hours, that's how I've experienced it the worst. I heard precipitated withdrawal from suboxone when coming off methadone can last a lot longer, like 6-8 hours.

It all has to do with how big your habit is, and how much suboxone you take i think. With heroin I could usually dose suboxone less than 12 hours after my last shot, and I would not get precipitated withdrawals. If I had only been using a smaller amount of heroin that usual, and I dose my suboxone too soon, I found that the precipitated withdrawal was pretty minor as my habit was pretty minor. I would feel anxious, cold/hot flashes, and some diarrhea, but it would usually end after half an hour.

The worst time I had precipitated withdrawal was when I had taken 2mg of suboxone about eight hours after my last shot of opana. I had only been using the opana for like, ten days, shooting fifty mg a day at average, but the precipitated withdrawal was horrible, and seemed like it lasted forever. I didn't check the time when it started or ended, but I know it lasted at least two hours, probably three, and then the whole next day I just felt shitty. Not withdrawal really, but a lot of anxiety/depression.

if you have opiates in your system already you should just take a really small amount of suboxone like 1 mg or less and also you have to wait as long as you possibly can...ive never had precipitated withdrawls but in the 2 yrs ive been on suboxone ive only used 2 and one time was my doctors fault lmao

Yeah, and it should be noted that you will more than likely not get precipitated withdrawals if you only took a one day break from suboxone/subutex with your doc. If you're on two mg or less, and you decide to shoot heroin instead that day, you can more than likely switch back to suboxone less than twelve hours after you did the full agonist. Precipitated withdrawals only ever happened to me when I had taken a real long break from suboxone, usually a week or more. Id be able to use heroin for two days and then dose suboxone easily. That might not be the case for everyone, but if you only use a full agonist once to replace you're suboxone regiment, you're not going to have to worry about waiting 36 hours to dose again, though it's still a good idea to prevent jacking your tolerance up
