So I was using oxycodone for a long time, as most do eventually moved on to heroin - insufflating, never shot it.

I've also taken Suboxone on days I wasn't getting high for quite a long time.

The last month or so I've been really trying to kick the habit. I've had minimal use in the last month and am currently on 8 days clean. Meaning nothing, no Suboxone, no nothing. I actually feel pretty damn good. I get restless at night and can't sleep, but that's about it. Oh and I'm still sneezing and have an itchy throat, but that might actually be allergies that were suppressed when I was using. (off topic but weird thing, I never got sick when I was using - actual sick, not withdrawal sick).

So anyways, how long do you think it takes the brain/body to become physically unaddicted to the drugs? To the point that if I did use, I wouldn't be sick the next day.

Right now I have no desire to use, after finally kicking everything, Suboxone and all, (that was a whole 'nother kinda hell to go through), I really enjoy waking up in the morning and feeling good, not having to pop one of those disgusting orange things in my mouth an wait an hour for it to kick in before I can function like a normal human. However, I would like to know, should it ever happen, how long must one stay clean to be in the clear from withdrawals after use?

Its different for everyone......if you've been using for say 5 years, once you get clean & stay clean for I would say 3 months, then you could probably use one day & call it quits.

If you use 2 or more, you probably will bring some dort of withdrawals on, then again, its a very subjective situation.

If you've been using for a couple of years, I'd say at least 4-6 months or so. Anything before that amount of time and you'll feel some discomfort the next day.
