How long does an EZ kit last after you've opened it?
Does putting it in the fridge help it last longer?
I noticed that they just put in on a shelf at the shop, do you reckon i can do the same thing and it will last?

Fridge : good
freezer : even better
room anywhere : fine
sunlight : no good
heat : avoid heat !
So try to keep it cold, that's best.

but always let the testerwarm up a bit before using it.. i dont take it straight out of fridge and use it, let it get to room temperature first... otherwise the reaction time will be different

How do you know when it has gone bad?? Mine still gives results but they always seem to be the same on different pills. Usually straight to a very dark black colour, sometimes with a slight fizz. Is it OK??
Its about 6 months old??
Cheers

Those results you're getting that are 'always the same' are pretty GOOD results Sherb!!....'straight to purple with fizz' is about as good as you could possibly hope for!!
If you're Marquis reagent was 'gone', it would be a very noticeable brown colour (you're going to have to pour a few drops onto a clean white plate to see that) and it will probably not register the above reaction (or at least, a lot less quickly than you describe).
Any test, refrigerated or not, should last at LEAST a month, unless it was made last year (the smallish, discontinued EZ Tests are all useless now, I would think). Refrigeration will keep them longer, but as pointed out above, do not attempt tests with a reagent taken straight from the fridge. Best let it warm to room-temperature first. The reaction will occur more truly if you do so, we have found.
