How long does a testing kit last for?

I used the search engine, and checked the pill testing section (no real faqs there). I know this has been answered before, but can't seem to string together the right search terms to get an answer... so no flames please!

Anyway, how long do the kits last for? TIA

I'd like to know this as well. Say you only tested 1 or 2 pills every few months, it'd be sitting around for a while.

I've heard that you should get a new test kit about every year. They're certainly cheap enough. But I know of somebody's 3+ year old marquis reagent that still does the job.

My marquis reagent is at least 3 y/o and still works.

One year..but ive had a mandelin tester expire before then because i used it alot and probably was careless with its storage...i use to take it to raves/parties to test bikkies.

And a question on the subject of testers - when they do expire how do you dispose of them please?
