I'm wondering how long some of the people on bluelight usually keep their dealers. Are you the type of person who's been going to the same dealer for numerous years? Or are you the person who keeps having to find a dealer? We all had to find dealers at one point or another.... That's the easy part I believe but the hard part is keeping them. Some dealers end up busted, go off the map, change their life around, ect... You never know if one day your top connect isn't going to answer their phone anymore or maybe they always will be that go to guy, who knows.

Most of my dealers I will keep for as long as they're free and in business. However, it's always good to have fall backs, especially of your an opiate user.

I guess ill answer this. I usually end up keeping dealers for however long I can but I still find myself having to find new dealers eventually... I end up having to do that either because I get out of the drug game and then when I comeback in everything has changed. Or usually I make friends and we usually get dealers through one another or help one another cop but then when that "friendship" breaks I'm off finding someone else. I wish I had a dealer who I could keep for awhile but I have yet to keep a dealer for more than a year :\ that's why I always have backups and I have backups for my backups lol. I always have to be prepared when my usual dealer doesn't pickup or whatever the case may be. Its always shitty when you hear your dude got busted and you got to go through people you don't usually go through but that's the game.... Never ending.

^^ This exactly.

It sucks to want to go back to using and not only having changed/lost your phone so no phone numbers. Plus if you really want to quit (at least for a season) you'd have to break up those friendships, there's no hanging out with users without using. So usually I end up getting sketchy/lousy connects which end up lasting me for two, three deals at most.. either because they rip me off or I get tired of dealing with them.

Ive had pretty much all of my dealers for over a year.

My weed dealer, Ive been friends with for 8 years, so when he started selling like 2 years ago, you know I kept that hook up lol :)

My shroom/ecstasy dealer... Ive had him for about a year and a half, but hes been my friend for about 3 years. Hes getting tired of selling though... wont sell E anymore because its all piperazines, and shroom season is over so he might be leaving the game :(

Now my acid dealer, that dude is cool. Ive known him for about 3 years, and Ive bought anything from blotters, to liquid LSD, to DANK mushrooms, to MDA molly, hash, weed and what I think was some 4-AcO-DMT. Good guy, I dont really see him leaving the game all together, but I do know Im one of his only customers at this point. He likes me =D

my boyfriend has had the same dealer for 13 years. dude knows how to play his cards right

Lucky, I just don't find myself being able to do that... Unless a life long friend started dealing and what not. I think even if you play your cards right you can still find yourself without a dealer and searching for another. Sometimes whether you keep one or not is out of you hands...

I've been able to maintain longevity between myself and "dealers" ... I suppose it's because a lot of my friends become dealers and a lot of my dealers become friends ... As long as their product is consistent, they stay out of trouble with the law and their attitudes remain consistent, it's all good. When I try new hook-ups, it usually ends up being more hassle than it's worth. People who claim to have access to everything under the sun but only deliver on the dirt weed; people and their over-hyping of their product... etc etc. It gets so old. If I had to go out and find new dealers right now, I'm not quite sure what I'd do... Tear my hair out, probably. :(

Most of them have lasted quite a number of months, sometimes over a year. Ive had some that Ive only hit up a few times. Ive known my current main connections (they know plenty as well in case they were dry) for over a year almost 2 years. Im relocating within 2 months so these wont last too much longer unfortunately. Starting a new somewhat life :)

I believe in dealer loyalty, and so when I find a good dealer, I work really hard on developing a positive relationship. I feel like this is a guy who trusts me, and so I'll do anything not to break that trust. I've called dealers before to give them a heads-up on friends, even, who are cooperating with police after getting pinched or whatever.

I have one dealer who's become more of a friend, really. It's never a problem to call this guy up and ask for a front; he doesn't even hesitate because he knows we'll pay him back as soon as we can, as we always have and always will. I've never thought of doing him dirty because he's just such a good guy. It sucks, though, because right now his bags are not on point.

I've been going to see another guy now whose bags are bigger and better, and unfortunately, he's just not always available and he's not as friendly as our other guy. I know that others would laugh at me for this, but I feel that it's important to have a friendly relationship with your dealer. I want a guy I can go see and chit-chat with a little bit, bullshit and whatever. (shrugs) It's just how I feel...

Yeah I feel you but sometimes you got to realize a dealer isn't really your friend.... I mean I'm not saying you think they're your friend but its hard when you get close to someone, especially in the drug game. You end up trusting one another but you gotta remember if that dealer gets busted I'm pretty sure they would sell your ass out to the police if they had to. Like I mean I have drug friends who I cops with or they get me dope but I still never let my guard down. I just make sure to not get too close because then they can fuck you over so easily and you wouldn't even see it coming. I usually just like a friendly dealer but I really don't want to rely on them too much or even get close and let them know more than they should...

^ A dealer rolling over on his customers, why, for what reason? If the cops have busted a dealer and, in their own minds, taken a dealer off the streets, then they're not going to be interested so much if at all in his customers. I mean, yeah, if you happen to be there at the time it goes down, then yeah you're probably hit, but I've never heard of the cops asking dealers to give up their customers lol

I know that my dealer has actually bailed out a few of his customers from jail before, no joke; he's a stand up guy.

And the trust is already there by your dealer agreeing to meet you in the first place, and your agreeing to pay him the money. He knows your face, your number, the car you drive, and you know all the same about him. So I don't see any reason not to be friendly.

I also make it a point to let my dealers know that I'll never sell them out. I won't do it, and it's for that reason I think I have such a good rapport with all my dealers and why they'll vouch for me to other dealers and whatever. Fronts are never a problem and it's all because of trust. It's the most important thing.

^I never said not to be friendly but there's kind of a line people forget about. I just think people forget its their dealer and not their best friend... Just business and nothing more. Also your post just makes me stick to my guns about not letting my guard down. I mean you just never know what could happen.... You may think a dealer wouldn't sell out his customers but nowadays you never know and I'm not just talking about with the police and what not...I'm also talking about someone fucking you over because you put so much trust in them and so on... I'm not saying your guy would but I'm just saying I wouldn't make it a habit to become close with everyone you get drugs from... Yeah they may have your number and shit but you can always switch phones... Also they don't need to know your full name, let alone where you live. I just like to keep certain things separate from my daily life.... Again I'm just sayin.

Not every dealer is like your guy. I had people I was good friends with fuck me over. Its just kind of hard to trust people when it comes to drugs... That's how I got robbed last time and it was like wtf? These people were so cool and shit but they really just pulled this? People are forever changing and sometimes not for the better or maybe they were always like that... Just waiting to get your trust and then boom one day fucked over. I mean it won't happen all the time or at all but there's always a chance. You just gotta keep your guard up and keep your personal life out of your drug life... Those two really don't mix well.

So I like to keep things brief and to the point. I say hi and how was your day, yada yada but in the end I'm here for you to sell me drugs and whatever. I'm not there for you to know about my wedding coming up (lol no wedding just an example) and I'm not here to hear about your baby momma. Yeah, let's be cool with one another but if I wanted a friend I would of looked somewhere else.

My coke dealer will never change, at least not any time soon. Everything else I've had to go from dealer to dealer, usually needing to go to someone else within a few months. Sometimes a dealer goes away for a while and then pops up again. For weed I have no particular dealers, I just find someone, even though I don't smoke often.

I have dealers who are strictly business, and that's fine too, and I can make every transaction a quick one if that's how they prefer it to be done; but I like having more of a friendly relationship with my dealer. I'm not looking for a friend in my dealer, no, and of course I have friends of my own also. But it's cool to have a dealer who respects you and thinks more of you than just another customer. I mean, those dealers who are strictly business, they can be downright mean sometimes and can sometimes treat you like shit, and it can be really insulting and it sucks.

I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, but this way of doing things has always worked for me. It could be a coincidence, maybe, but trusting my dealers and asking that they trust me has been nothing but advantageous and I often find my dealers doing things for me that I know they do not and would not ever do for anyone else, and that feels really good. So, I think I'm just going to keep on doing what I'm doing.

^whatever works for you... I mean I want to be able to do the same sometimes but then its usually better I don't. I have dealers who are friendly and are only business. I honestly never met a really mean one but the ones who were overly friendly ended up being the most deceiving motherfuckers :\ ahhh if only reading people worked well all the time.

Im just like you when it comes to this, Verso. I prefer having some semblace of a friendship when I choose a dealer, as I dont trust people easily, especially dealers. Ive always gone with people I got to know a bit (or have a mutual friend who knows them pretty well) before I make a decision whether to buy from them. I basically developed really good friendships with my previous main 2 herb dealers. Theyre not in the game anymore and still have plenty of connections available (as do I) but weve remained friends since they decided to stop. Met my MDMA dealer in HS, but after I graduated (and decided to not use MDMA for a while) we hung out less and less.

^I understand that with pot dealers or mdma and what not but who is usually friends with a dope dealer? I'm meaning friends first then you get to know they deal heroin, haha I wish that happened a lot. Not really a situation that happens to often and in my opinion dope dealers are way different than someone who deals pot or other drugs. Pot dealers are always friendly and can be really good friends but people who deal hard drugs like heroin, meth or crack, they usually don't end up being someone you want to be associated with. I mean there are some good ones but if you cop from a city you have to deal with too many "thugs" and what not. If you're in a small community then its different... I even had my dealer give me a ride back to where I needed to be. The thing was he was a skinny white dude who lived in the burbs... Not like the guys I have to deal with in philly. Totally different story.

The only reason I made that comment to verso is because I know he does dope and what not.... Yet he is also from new england and when I lived in CT dealers were a lot different than down here.

My previous Meth dealer was a functional addict, sold herb as well (very dank and cheap homegrown) and he was one of the friendliest guys I ever met. Had the craziest case of ADHD Ive ever seen. Havent seen him in quite a long time, heard he quit smoking glass but not quite sure about that. My H dealer a long time ago was a good guy, but then fell prisoner to the dope and the rest is history. My psych dealers have always been awesome :D
