i'm dying to try my 6-apdb. i feel the next time i can take it is today, but then in 10 days i go on a 3-week therapy vacation which starts right away with a meditation retreat. is 10 days too soon before heavy inner work to have a "roll" or enough time? (in other words, would it be irresponsible to do so, considering residual effects on the brain and the immense potential of the retreat?)

Assuming you have experience with ecstasy- or MDMA-like drugs, you should know how you react to them regarding chronic hangovers. It can vary a lot and depend on expectations among other things. However if you have never tried this drug before, it is hard to say how you will react even if you can try to make some predictions.
How much experience do you have with meditation? If you have any, wouldn't you agree that during meditation your state of mind, current affairs in your head regarding emotion and thought, are amplified and manifested during meditation? If they surface, it is best to start off unencumbered so taking 6-APDB or 6-APB doesn't seem like a good plan.

If you can keep the dose limited and generally benefit emotionally from taking such drugs because for example they 'open' you then taking such drugs could be a good primer for a retreat, allowing you to make contact with yourself deeply.
So you see, there is certainly a considerable risk involved but it doesn't always have to pan out negatively.

Why did you put the D between brackets in the thread title? Are you not sure of the identity of the drug you have?

the substance in question is 6-apbd. i put the D in between brackets since may people know apb but aren't familiar with apbd. even though they're different chemicals, i figured i'd get a lot more input to work from.

i've taken 6-apb before, but this would be my first time with 6-apbd. i feel it may be a positive, emotionally-clearing experience, but i see the negative potential too. it's hard for me to see clearly where i am justifying versus making a good or responsible choice.

i also thought there may be some standard biochemical advance about the 6-apbd and the 10 days after. indeed one is very sensitive while meditating... question is would a residual comedown be noticeable...

Well, Suicide Tuesdays are called that because typically people roll on a Friday or Saturday night, and then they get the crippling depression 2-3 days later. So if you were to do it today then that would fall within your 10-day window. But it's always possible that a trip could trigger something psychologically that will persist for longer than it takes for the drug to be metabolized by your body and for your brain chemistry to return to normal levels. Have you noticed effects persisting for more than 10 days when you've taken 6-APB before?

If you do decide to trip today, you can also try taking 5-HTP or tryptophan supplements for a few days starting tomorrow, as well as eating foods like cheese, eggs, and poultry that have lots of tryptophan in them, that should help get your neurotransmitters back to normal. (Taking 5-HTP the same day you trip on MDxx substances is not a good idea though, that can make you feel sick with flu-like symptoms.)

therapy vacation...meditation retreat...heavy inner work...immense potential

well, that's the kind of phrasing I use for full dose-experiences with 6-apb. ;)

honestly I'd wait for the experience until after the retreat. I usually feel some effects with 6-apb (no exp with 6-apdb, sorry) for a few days, fading within a week/ten days. not necessarily negative effects but it is there and it is work in itself. just a little bit exhausting mentally/spiritually. I personally probably wouldn't want to have the next challenge so soon after a strong entheogenic (for me this term apllies to 6-apb) experience of any kind.
