Opioids How long before I can use opiates again?

Hi, everyone. I'm completely new here so forgive me if I've posted in the wrong section but I just had to get an answer here haha. Someone has recently been chipping on opiates (hydrocodone, oxycodone) for about 2-2.5 months (They've used opiates for a few years to this point but never with this kind of regularity) with as much as a week and as little as a day in-between doses (regularly about 70-90mg hydrocodone). Last week however, someone fell off the wagon a bit and dosed about 9 days or so in a row (with the last day being my heaviest use to date after ingesting 60mg hydrocodone and 35mg oxycodone). They experienced withdrawals for the first time after that binge which was weird because I've been on a couple of longer binges before, even with stronger stuff such as Opana. The w/d's lasted about 3 days and they are certainly aware of the fact that they are most likely experiencing PAWS based on the cravings they've had the last few days but my question is, how long will they have to wait to take opiates again without experiencing withdrawals? They re-upped the day before their w/d's kicked in and have a good amount of hydro left that they certainly wouldn't mind indulging in. Their last dose was last Friday (today is Saturday, of course) and don't plan on using more than once every 3-4 days (at the worst) and only have enough for about 5 doses. Would it be safe for them to take around 70mg hydro and then not dose again for a few days (as stated above)? Is that dose too high and will simply put them back into w/d's? Any help would be much appreciated and again, I'm sorry if this is the wrong spot to post this in or this question has been asked a million times.
 
You need to wait until you are completely detoxed from opiates, which can take a few weeks, before you'd be able to use any opiate again and not just prolong your dependence. Even then, after being totally physically detoxed, if you slip up and use 3 or 4 days in a row, theres a high chance you'll end up dependent again. Once you've picked up your first habit, dependency happens again much faster. So, if you think that now you'll be able to go as long as you did before using in a row before getting strung out... you wont.
 
What if you use once a week (again, it's been 8 days since the last dose and about 4 or 5 days since the physical symptoms have left)? Would that be enough for someone to throw themselves into physical w/d? The plan after much thought and deliberation would be to use once a week until the supply is out. The dose would be 70mg hydrocodone each time. This may sound naive but the lesson was definitely learned with experiencing w/d's for the first time and I don't plan on ever buying anything ever again (this is certainly within the realm of possibility thanks to the fact that I only have 1-2 inconsistent dealers and an extremely limited $ supply). I just want to have my last few times of "fun" and move on from this and the sooner I can do that, the better haha.
 
If you can stick to once a week using, you'll be fine. You wont pick up a dependency using once or twice a week. Just be careful.. a lot of people attempt to exert that kind of control and it rarely works out ya know?

And it's definitely been long enough from the last dose?? I don't mean to beat a dead horse but I wasn't kidding when I said that I learned a big lesson after w/d's and I really want to make sure that I never experience anything like that again and have to be absolutely sure (hence my resignation of lurker status lol). I definitely understand your concern when it comes to the using once a week thing, though. I'd probably be skeptical of myself as an outsider too haha but after what I went through (which in all likelihood, were probably relatively mild w/d's based on the research that I've done on here lol), I know that I can't do anything more than once a week until they're gone, with which 30 10/325's and the dose described at 70mg per dose will last me 5 weeks.

I recommend waiting 2 weeks after the last time before starting again. Then I would keep it to once every 10 days. If you can't control yourself enough to take it that spaced out then I don't see you being able to do it once a week without giving in and it taking more often. So once a week is the most often I would take it, but once every 10 days is a better bet.

People constantly ask what's the shortest amount of time they can use next, use all the time you get addicted pretty straight forward.
