Opioids How long before fun is gone?

Listen to these guys. A lot of folks get started taking a tab or perc, I remember when a 7.5 would get me "fucked up" like 5 years ago. Tonight I've been at work 8 hours, and railed 5 opana 20's, and I'm already planning on what I'm picking up on the way home before this shit has even wore off.

Also, people are going back n' forth about making plans, but bottom line if you make plans and play with opioids, you are most likely gonna disappoint yourself. I've made goals to stop, that turned into well i'll stop for a while, to wheres my hose clamp and mirror. God forgive me the day someone tosses me a bag of H....

8L4YN3, I couldn't but help notice your location, is Biodone, like sub or methadone? Completely off topic, sorry.

Yeah, methadone.

I agree with brokendown, you can play any game you want to play, when rules and plans become part of the deal, with a previous history, it's just a head game an addict plays, if I pick up a rattle snake again after being bitten twice from picking up rattle snakes, you'd think, what's wrong with this guy, he's crazy, he keeps fucking with the snakes and keeps getting bit from time to time. Then one time he picks up the snake gets bit and dies. Addicts are the only people I know who play these games with themself.

Yeah but in this headgame you win the lottery every time you pick up the snake, pretty temping to keep trying, just look at steve irwin, or anyone from jackass for that matter, but I guess that could be considered adrenalin addiction?

ya know what...

it has taken me 10 years of recreational opiate use to finally get hooked.

my tolerance is still relatively low...i still feel it for a lil bit at like 50 mgs of oxy, but really need like 120+ mg's of oxy to get to that magic spot again (i only say thats low cause i have buddies that bang 3 bags of dope or hundreds of mg's of oxy in a single shot).... but i used any and all opiates i could find / afford and whenever i wanted for the last 10 years without ever experiencing withdrawals even after a couple days in a row of use... but in the last year my tolerance has doubled, and it now at 3-4 days a week... and the other days i ache all over and feel a little sick. rarely do i even do as much as i would like to because i am now more concerned with just having a little bit for as many days in a row as possible.

so i guess y'all were right when i was reading posts exactly like this one on here when i first started and thought "i'll never let it get out of hand"

I appreciate all the advice.

I would be lieing to myself if i thought this is as far as my habit will go.
I know at one point or another I will be full on addicted.

But the goal of my whole plan is damage control. So once I reach
that plateau, I can take a break and ironically start from the beginning.

I feel I will always be addicted to opiates even if i go 5 years on break, then
chip for a few months then back on a 5 year break.

I've already seen the high and lows of addiction so i know what to watch for.

My history with opiates has been off and on for 4 years.
here is my story of my longest period on them for
about 8-9 months.

I started taking couple percs everyday which led to
10-14 percs and 1/4 50mcg fent patch a day.

I followed some bad advice when I realized my problem was
becoming too large to hide from work and friends.

I went to a methadone clinic to detox slowly so I could continue
working. BIG MISTAKE!!. 4 months later I was on 120mg day.

The methadone had me in a weird state of mind that I didn't
realize at the time what I was doing to myself.

One day I woke up realizing how addicted I was when
I wanting to sleep in on my day off but I couldn't
cause my body started aching and I had drive to
a clinic at 5:30 am.

Soon after I made plans to quit cold turkey.
I received my last batch of 6 doses of 120mg
and never went back.

I took about 2 weeks to get back to normal.
First week was the worst but manageable. I
took some darvocet and xanax during the
two weeks which helped tremendously for
the aches and overall feeling of death to ease up.

Was clean for 8-9 months. Then did the weekend pill thing
for 3-4 months but quit cause of rising tolerance and
work schedule. Went on 6 month break and now
here I am...............

So is willpower over addiction possible under the right
circumstances?

bah get out of this thread with your nonsense, dexedrine, caffeine and codeine? What do you even know about opiate addiction.

Your reply is stupid because you're implying intelligence has something to do with people getting addicted. Trust me, a "plan" isnt going to prevent an opiate addiction from flourishing. And the OP is already going down the exact same junky path all of us went down.

So dont be coming here telling us about how you're good at planning your dexamp, caffeine and codeine use, claiming that if you just have a plan you will be okay, and only the wreckless get addicted.

Sorry post just smacks of ignorance.
While I agree that intelligence doesn't deter from addiction, there are multiple types of intelligence, not just one. Therefore, there can be a sort of intelligence we have about ourselves as we age and after we try different drugs.

In this respect, we know which drugs produce unwanted side effects, and we know which ones we are most likely to be addicted to, and which ones to avoid in the future because of a possible addiction or prevention of an addiction miraculously due to the circumstances.

For example, I know not to start abusing heroin again because of what happened in the totality of what I went through and being able to avoid major repercussions was amazing. I am not planning on living in an area where heroin (in a powder form) is a predominant problem.

I also know I have tried most other drugs and don't plan on using many more of them very often. I am going to stay away from full agonist opiates, barring necessity for surgery.

But you are correct, intelligence in terms of crystallized intelligence, is not a really big factor in terms of avoiding drug addiction. This I can easily agree with. %)

Making a plan is always a good idea but you might not know how it'll turn out - and sometimes it's impossible to predict what drug addiction is going to do to you until you get there and you've lived through it once or multiple times. In this sense, there's almost no way to be able to prepare for rational/reasonable drug consumption until you get there and you do it.

To answer the thread as I answered the question in my head, "Sooner than you will realize and sooner than you want"

Honestly physical addiction was never a big problem for me when doing oxy. I got the stomach problems and shit but never the severe withdrawal most folks get. However the habit of doing oxys and the pleasure I got was very mentally addicting. Hell If I had some in front of me right now I would blow threw them, it's definitely a will power thing.

you literally have 137.699 (repeating of course;)) more days until your hooked for good like a Big Ole' Bass.

-Try "Kratom" out...youll be surprised8o
