So i've been taking vicodin or percocet once a week for about 2 months now.
I take about 30-40mg on friday night and 5-10mg on saturday morning.

By taking almost a week break , Does my tolerance erase between use? If not how long can I take this dose without increasing too much?

Also I have abused pills on a daily base in the past but went on a 6month break before I started this 2months ago.

5 days in between use will defenitley help prevent becoming addicted as far as tolerance goes if you continue to use constantly every weekend I am pretty sure your tolerance will eventually go up. The method you are doing sounds like a good plan but it all depends on the individual person

By sticking to that schedule, you should avoid physical dependence, but you may not escape addiction.. You apparently have been down that road already, and if you are at the stage where you are making up schedules and counting down the hours til your next dose, then psychological addiction is already creeping in.

Now this isn't guaranteed, but I recommend you tread carefully..

I agree with the previous posts, mainly bdp's. The psychological addiciton could already be settin in which after a while tends to become very overwhelming. I've seen many people in your exact situation end up bummin rides to the city jus to get a ten spot of dope. As others have said tread very carefully. I would even try to use less than once a week. I personally don't know your weekly routine but if you can keep yourself occupied with work or school or working out and things of that nature instead of lookin forward to those pills you should be in a good position to stay functional.

And at this rate the fun should always be there IME I always enjoy my opis when i use them. I try to keep them for special occasions though.

I suppose you are doing opiates recreationally like someone drinking on the weekends. You do it to relax & have fun so I dont see the fun ending any time soon. I do see your tolerance jumping a bit, but it comes with this game.

let me know if you're able to keep it to once a week for a year, and I'll be thoroughly impressed. don't mean to be an ass, just saying be realistic about the fact you're playing with fire, even if you can "do it". God knows I tried. It worked for maybe three months of regular use (would wait four days between using, but would use a lot). Like I said, God knows I tried, and failed miserably. Then again, we're all different... Best of luck! The honeymoon period sure is fun, I will say that :)

Not really, it's called being smart and making a plan. A man with a plan is better than a better man without a plan :)
I plan my dexedrine, caffeine and codeine all the time during finals, so it doesn't run out etc. Trouble is when you down the pills like candy without any plan.

I keep myself busy during the week with work so that
helps keep my mind off it. I also dont have access to it
so that helps alot other than the ten i get once a week.

Psychologically, I probably am addicted but to what definition
not sure. I might crave a vicodin after a long day of work
but I can shrug it off withing a few min. Its like wanting
a cold beer after work but because of physical wd, i can
convince my mind its not worth it.

Heroin is not available in my area so not worried about that.
Actually the most i can find if i tried would be vic/perc. maybe
a oxy on a blue moon.

Other than that, The one thing that gets to me is after using is,
By sunday or monday I feel like my bowels are loose and
I feel a little stomach discomfort. Nothing crazy but enough.
Also a few hours of feeling a bit shitty.

Why am I feeling physical wd after 1 day of use at such
a lite dose?

The trouble is when you stray from the plan, just that one time, itll be ok just this once then back to the plan, then before you know it your three sheets to the wind, plan long forgotten and all you can think about is more pills or H. But maybe you all have more self control than I do, we are all very different.

if you can actually stick to that plan, you should be able to pull it off for a while.
i took a mandatory class in college for all athletes on substance abuse, and i remember my professor specifically saying, "a lot of people don't consider themselves alcoholics or problem drinkers because they only drink on weekends. well, if you're counting the days til the weekend, ticking off the hours til you can binge, that is a form of alcoholism in it's own right, and in the long run can be more damaging to your health than having a beer or two every night."
and I think he was right: during my college years, I would be dry sunday through wednesday, and then typically go through half a 30 rack and split a 5th of vodka with a buddy every thursday, friday and saturday. not during my sport season, but the rest of the year. and it did a lot more damage to my body than drinking 2 beers a night, every night would have done.
alcohol and opiates are very different beasts, but i think the same concept applies: once you're in a rut where you're counting down the hours til blast off, there is some form of psychological addiction there. just be careful.
as for the "withdrawl:" i'd call that more of a comedown. opiates are very constipating, as they suck water out of waste as it crawls through your intestines, and also is a very powerful muscle relaxant, which all but halts peristalsis. when you binge for two days, you're basically shutting down your digestive system, and then when the binge is over, it works overtime to get back on track.

All i can say on the ^^ subject is do what you do, But when you notice it goes from 30-40mg to 50-to 70 to 100? dont be shocked, stop, slow down, i used to take a 15mg oxycodone and be fine for a few hours now i have to take 3-5x that to feel half the euphoric buzz i used to, a IR 30mg oxycodone barely gets me chillin.

Yeah i agree with you. A plan is definitely better than no plan. And with a plan, such as "I am only gonna dose on weekend", will certainly help you avoid physical dependence for quite some time, if you do stick to it.

All I am saying is, though once a schedule gets introduced, then it no longer is just a random fun thing to do once in a while. Any kind of steady dosage plan (even if it is just on the weekends) will certainly help ramp up any psychological addiction already ensuing.

I have been addicted/dependent on opiates for a long time now, and you're damn sure that I, and everyone else I know, in the beginning also had a supposed 'plan'. But with opiates it starts to slip real slowly and then you get into trouble.

So, moral of the story - Stick with the plan and you'll be okay. This required mucho self control though, and opiates seem to be much harder to utilize said plan for long period of time. And since the OP mentioned he had a pill habit before, it does not take much for you to start experience withdrawals/dependence/addiction again after having a previous habit.

Good luck !

As other posters have said, that small weekend-warrior usage will quickly turn into waking up sick every morning calling everyone you know who goes to the city to scoop diesel just to get whatever you can afford. Not trying to tell you what to do, but please be careful and use every other week or something, because as B.D.P said, sounds kinda like the psychological addiction has already begun to sneak up on you. Take care friend

i did the once a week thing for about a year and a half, and I always said it was impossible to find stuff, until I met "the guy" that I'm sure a lot of us never wish we met. they are all different, but mine could get a myriad of pills.

I went from being able to get a couple overpriced hydros to having a walking pharmacy at my fingetips. And he was a user of these drugs, so when he used up all his supply and the money ran out, he found the cheaper stuff. I remember that night when I was going to pick up some dilaudid and he handed me 2 rigs and a sack of heroin and said "I think you'll like this better."

read this thread good and well. everyone has a story to tell, including yourself. I just posted this because I see a little of myself 6 years ago in you. best of luck and enjoy those highs, they kick so much ass in the beginning

I use my drugs rather responsibly and have for years, this being said I've yet to encounter any problems with maintaining work/school with an opioid habit (prescribed), even when not taken exactly as the label says to. My dopamine kick is more desirable on something that will keep me in my wits, stimulants make me paranoid; so, everyone is different. I'd rather have a coffee and a few lines or a shot.

at first opiates get you pleasantly high, but down the road you just need to get the chemical in your body to feel "normal"

bah get out of this thread with your nonsense, dexedrine, caffeine and codeine? What do you even know about opiate addiction.

Your reply is stupid because you're implying intelligence has something to do with people getting addicted. Trust me, a "plan" isnt going to prevent an opiate addiction from flourishing. And the OP is already going down the exact same junky path all of us went down.

So dont be coming here telling us about how you're good at planning your dexamp, caffeine and codeine use, claiming that if you just have a plan you will be okay, and only the wreckless get addicted.

Sorry post just smacks of ignorance.

Dude this is only the beginning, these doses are still low as hell, if you keep chasing the high, which inevitably means you have to keep increasing the dose, this cycle will keep on going as long as you can justify it to yourself. Or once a couple oc80's at once dont do a thing for you, probably will find heroin, recapture the high for a bit until your tolerance again catches up, its a never ending thing man. Then you might feel your addicted to fuck, and want some normality in your life so you get on methadone, push your dose up and up chasing a subtle opiate glow that leaves you very very fast, and your tolerance is now double it was, when you were on heroin, so now you have a huge addiction, a huge tolerance, just a huge headfuck. Forget about getting high on opiates at all really once you reach this stage, it will become simply uneconomical and not realistically possible...

This happends much easier than people realise. It dosn't take months to build a solid tolerance. Man if you binged your heart out for two weeks you could easily double your tolerance in that time, my point is how fast tolerance can rise, and how it's a game you can just never win. No such thing as recreational opioid addiction. If you're using daily now anyone get the fuck out before your habit is any bigger.

I agree with brokendown, you can play any game you want to play, when rules and plans become part of the deal, with a previous history, it's just a head game an addict plays, if I pick up a rattle snake again after being bitten twice from picking up rattle snakes, you'd think, what's wrong with this guy, he's crazy, he keeps fucking with the snakes and keeps getting bit from time to time. Then one time he picks up the snake gets bit and dies. Addicts are the only people I know who play these games with themself.
