I took 10mg methadone today at about noon. It is now 10 pm. I have been smoking weed on top of the dones all day, i am a chronic smoker. I dont really "feel" the methadone anymore but would it be unsafe to take 1-2mg clonazepam on the same day?

I would not take the klonopin! Methadone is a very strong drug and it was made specifically so you don't "feel" it like other opiates. Additionally methadone stays in your system for up to 48hrs so taking any other cns depressants with in that time frame can be life threatening, so just save the klonopin for another time, it's not worth the risk.

I think you'd be fine. 10mg's is nothing even for a non tolerable user. Im surprised you felt anything then the cones. If you have experience, tolerance, i think its fine.
Sorry 10mg is noticably strong, i worked it out wrong as i take liquid. As long as you've come down, still take 1mg.

I would strongly advise waiting for another day. Methadone stays active in the system long after the appreciable effects wear off. Just because you're no longer feeling it doesn't make the idea of combining other CNS depressants with it safe, even at low doses.

Always better safe than sorry, and methadone is no joke.

Indeed, methadone is no joke. It is not a good choice for somebody who is simply searching for a buzz; however, 10mg is not THAT much, and, given that clonazepam is a benzodiazepine rather than an opiate, it should be safe to take immediately after/simultaneous with methadone. Assuming you have some sort of tolerance, of course. But, do NOT take anymore methadone for at least another 12 hours, as methadone is VERY long acting. Moral of the story: methadone should always be respected.

This is not true. Taking benzos + opioids close together is responsible for far more deaths than opioids alone or opioids + opioids. The special problem with methadone is that the dangers like respiratory depression can persist after the "high" has worn off. It's common for people to take a benzo because they don't feel the methadone anymore and then go to sleep and not wake up. This has sometimes happened with doses of methadone as low as the OP took. 10mg CAN be a lot for some people and there is no reason to assume the OP has a tolerance.

10mg can be quite sedating to an opiate naive person. How often do you take opiates? Is this your first time? How often do you take clonazepam or benzos, and how much do you plan on taking?

Either way it is better to be safe than sorry, I'd wait 24+ hrs after the 'done to take kpin
