How is extended release morphine tabs comparable to oxycontin

orally, oxycodone beats morphine by 1.5x, roughly.

Feeling wise, the high is WAY better. Upping the dose of morphine is MUCH more noticeable, and the effects are a bit more enjoyable.

Some will say that the effects of oxycodone is more enjoyable, but morphine has a much shorter half life than oxycodone, and all in all morphine is the more desirable opiate for those who are going to be using opiates for recreational purposes.
 
I and alot of others would have to STRONGLY disagree with Captain.Heroin...In my years of being a junkie and out of all the people I met and know, NONE prefer morphine over Oxycontin/oxycodone. Morphine pills are almost worthless to just about everyone I know and have met. On the other hand, Oxycontin is probably the single most desired drug by the people in my area (d.c, maryland) other than weed and coke. Oxy is def the most popular and used opiate by people I know (50^).

To answer your question, (which has been asked a million and one times...just search next time).....If you take 60mg of Oxy and 60mg of morphine,orally, the oxy will kick the morphines ass all day. Oxy is around 2.5x stronger than morphine. Oxy also doesn't make you as drowsy/lethargic as morphine. Oxy lasts longer, feels better and has less side effects than morphine.

But if you IV the morphine, all bets are off. IV morphine totally would be better than oxy in any form. Other than IV'ed, morphine sucks.
 
the captain must be sailing another boat because everyone agrees that oral ms contin is nowhere close to oxycontin. Exactly how far away though everyone including pain clinics disagree. Orally you're going to be looking at comparing it to 1/2 to 1/3 the dose of oxycontin depending on you, your meds and the gods. The only good way to take morphine is to boot it but we'll figure that's out for you especially considering all the wax you have to deal with. That only leaves plugging which will put you somewhere between the oral equiv and the iv equiv. Probably about 40mg of oxy when it goes up your but after it's all been prepared, plus or minus 10mg. you should like search and see everyone else's answers to the same question because there are a lot of opinions and detail. But without question it's much weaker orally than the same amount of oxycontin.

Extended release morphine comparable to Oxycontin only by the fact that they are extended release and both opiates. Oxycontin more potent and has higher bio availability. Morphine less potent and less bio availability, would need more to equal the same feel from whatever dose of Oxycontin you are used to taking.
 
i would take probably 2x more morphine then your oxycodone dose, and redose as needed.

Morphine plugged however is great, and a decently long high compared to oxy
 
I was on oxy 40s for yrs, and recently switched to 60mg Morphine 3x a day, And I love the switch. sure oxy hits harder but Morphine in my opinoin is better than oxy. it works better for pain relief and lasts longer than oxy..
I'm glad to be off oxy..
 
You might be right that Oxy is a lot stronger, but I can'rt seem to stop chewing the fuck out of those pills and always cum up short on my script and then through the pain of with drawls.
The morphine seems to last longer and deal with the pain better. The oxy just gets immune to my system to fast.

i thought morphine was good for injection and rectal admin only.. a while ago when my tolerence was 40mg oxycodone,i took 200mg orally or morphine and probably 50 more snorted, it was a very good high.

i dont get how people take that last pill of there scripts b4 the day they see the doc..

for me i always need to save some for the day i go to the doc (so im not WDing theree) but still...

honetsly morphine is shitty it has some of the lowest bio availability out of all painkillers. if you have both i would just sell it an get some money for oxy. well just my 2 cents
 
Oral Morphine is incredibly weaker than oxycodone. I'd say that oxycodone is a little bit more than twice as potent. Remember that I'm talking about MSContin not intravenous Morphine. Complete different story. Don't try and shoot MSContin though, it will gel up anyway. Instant release seems more potent than MSContin also. My opinion always has been that an 80mg OC is equivalent to the 200mg MSContin pill. I must admit though that the first couple times I tried the 200mg pills I got pretty high but I'd never be able to feel much until I'd take 100mg.

As for difference in effects, Morphine is more sedating, hypnotic and at higher doses it produces a more powerful nod than oxycodone. Oxycodone is more stimulating and euphoric.

Orally OC is stronger by 1.5 times, but I agree with CAP thAT M is the better high....just closer to H. Oxy is too rushed/speedy. If I wanted that I'd mix a lot of codeine with some speed.....not what opiates are supposed to be about.but each to their own I guess.

That sounds about right. Sucks because morphine is much cheaper for me to get. The ones that are easy for me to get are a major pain in the ass to shoot so that is definately part of it. I rarely IV anything except dilaudid and meth anyway.
