How I felt on Christmas

Christmas, the time to spend with those you love
Im spending it with my family
Christmas, the time to be with the ones you care about
Ill be spending it with my freinds
Christmas, the time to smile
But my smile is fake because youre not here
Christmas is a time of joy and laughter
So I try to force a chuckle
My body shakes but no sound emerges
And if it wasnt for this plastic smile
You wouldnt be blamed
For mistaking my shakes for sobs
The one gift I want most in the world
Is the thing Ill never get
I want to hold you in my arms
And smile and laugh with joy
Because Im with the one I love,
The one I care about most of all
So while you sit around the tree
With the ones you love and care for
I wonder if that beutiful smile
Is real or is it forced like mine?
And when you sit back and sigh
Will it be because youre savoring the moment
Or will you be sparing a thought for me?
Despite the sad feel to this poem I spent a few hours on boxing day with the girl that its about and am now in the best mood Ive been in for a long time, its funny how little things can make you feels so good merry christmas everyone
