@Joe Bean
I took gabapentin awhile. It was before my injury so it was prescribed for something else completely ridiculous I can't remember what it was at the moment but it was bizarre enough I couldn't even find anything online about that being a possible off-label use whatsoever. I've heard others say it really increases the effects of benzodiazepines and alcohol but I'm not sure about opiates (also possibly cannabis), I don't have any experience combining it with any of them. I was pretty much completely clean while I was taking it, I wasn't really in withdrawal but those months of sobriety were hell to me (those months reminded me of what it's like to live life sober and I wasn't interested in keeping that shit up. Never again! I made a vow after that I'd do pretty much everything humanly possible to remain at least somewhat buzzed (but not enough to make me unable to function or have a negative impact on my life) the rest of my life and I've been pretty successful so far, best decision I ever made

)
Anyway back to the gabapentin. I absolutely hate the stuff personally but I only had it alone. It made me feel tired, completely dead inside and basically turned me into a zombie. Same sorta things antipsychotics do. I got to were it was taking me a good 30 seconds to speak the shortest most basic sentences. It slowed/dulled my thinking to the point it seemed as though I had become mentally retarded, my ability to think eventually started to return but I don't believe I regained all of my intelligence. Before it fucked up my brain I had an IQ in the high 120s (127 or 128 if I'm not mistaken). I know that isn't genius but now I just feel like an absolute moron, I get really depressed thinking about it honestly.
Sorry, I realize I kinda got off topic again. I still feel the Dexedrine fairly strong so...
Ok in summary I personally despise gabapentin because my experience(s). However, I did just begin taking Lyrica (pregabalin) for my nerve pain. From what I understand it is a close relative to gabapentin but more modern/improved, another thing I noticed is that Lyrica is controlled (just schedule V) while gabapentin isn't not sure why tho... Lyrica seems nothing like it to me. It really helps my pain (wouldn't be enough alone but with bupe I'm getting almost as much relief as I was from methadone, couldn't believe it

)It also seemed to double the euphoria and relaxation from my high. I love the stuff!
Hope you experience effects from the gabapentin like I am from the Lyrica, and have none of those problems I had with it.
