I dunno Seyer, there is some evidence that dxm slows tolerance to opiates, and it is a good high by itself, though that last bit is subjective. I always enjoyed it, as it was the only dissociative I could easily get my hands on. Going to classes during my senior year of university after drinking a bottle was always fun as shit. Or taking 300+mg, smoking a bunch of weed, and then trying to beat Guilty Gear X on Dreamcast.

I'm sober right now. Not for lack of having anything, just because I want to get shit done today before I get high.
 
I know there are psychonauts who responsibly use DXM. But IME:

DXM has all the risk of hard drugs and few of the rewards. Not to mention the dangers of non-DXM only products and the reckless abandon most users seem to have in regards to dosing\frequency. Guys please don't assume its safe because its just cough medicine. The effects are really intense and there is a lot of anecdotal evidence that DXM can have at least a temporary negative effect on the brain. I abused this when I was younger. It seemed to effect my grades during the period I used it. I also had worsened depression and no motivation over the course of using daily for a couple months. Never again will I put my body through that for any high. The body load gets more intense the more often you do it and the euphoria fades fast.
 
I enjoy high doses of DXM, 3rd plateaus & such. Have yet to 4th or sigma plateau, but I'd love to. It's dirty as fuck, but still a legit dissoaciative.

I've never had it in crystal/powder form. Just gelcaps/syrup. I imagine it's the way to go. DXM just reminds me of high school days chugging a bottle or two and spewing... I did get fractal visuals tho, closed eye. And giant architecture.
 
Haha my first high was DXM, triple Cs. I was such a noob I went in to the bathroom at Mellow Mushroom, went to the sink, put 8 pills on a napkin & started popping them. I was such a fucking noob. People were in the bathroom too.
 
The pharmacy is gonna fax my doc, i hopeee he will refill my prometh/codeine. (i went through the bottle in a few days i bet the pharmacy is suspicious)

You guys are bunch of elitists sometimes :\ You act like DXM isn't a "real drug" compared other commonly-used substances. You use anecdotal reports and personal experiences to judge others and make sense of your own choices, and when doing so aren't much different than your common Drug Warrior.

DXM requires a different dosing method then other drugs if you wish to enjoy it every time; taking a massive dose all at once will usually result in a bad experience. I thought I'd never have another good trip on DXM again, that I'd reached the "50 trip limit," but I was wrong. I can enjoy DXM_every_single_time now, and it's because I dose myself slowly. A good DXM high takes hours to produce. I have gone from "why did I do this to myself?" to "I'm totally glad I did this."

Go ahead guys, keep taking your "real" drugs and nodding in agreement with one another, while those of us who are happy with our less-popular DOCs go back to our respective planets.

DXM is a shit-tier drug, end of discussion.
That is why usually 14 year olds go for it.

Nahh, the C's have CPM in them, which potentiates DXM, but in high doses it's not good for you.

Very compelling argument! Who cares if DXM can increase one's imagination, produce awesome visuals, make one more aware of their subconscious mind, and lift one from the pit of depression? Or that it's safe when used responsibly? None of those things matter, because DXM's a shit-tier drug!

FTR, 14-year-olds use it because they can steal it easily, or because some stores will sell it to them. That fact alone does not make DXM shitty, only readily available.
