I think passive smoke could be harmful yes.

Vapor shouldn't be a problem but there was much discussion on "weed and cats/dogs"

It's not really a good thing to be doing.. As we are not sure if the effects are the same as on humans. I read somewhere that it was considered toxic towards Dogs but that is after they eat a few grams I think. Passive smoke/vapor wouldn't be as full on.

How about moving your dog away from a room full of smoke, nothing quite like animals trapped in a smokey room

non-enclosed area, smokey. Also would it affect him better if it was just herbal vapours?

Please get your puppy out of the smokey environment. This is exactly the same as having a baby in an enclosed smokey environment. A puppy's lungs and brain are still developing and need as healthy an environment as possible. Don't be a dick, take proper care of your pup. Otherwise if you can't be responsible, find a new home for it.

I'm sorry but I have no tolerance for shit like this.

I'm extremely paranoid about this also, as I have a 6 month old puppy. If there's two or three people smoking I'll keep her in the room as long as everyone blows the smoke away from her towards an open window. If there's more people I'll stay with her in another room and wait to smoke until someone else is done and willing to sit with her.
I'm not sure how harmful it is, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Lots of people get their pets high intentionally, which is not advisable, and their pets turn out more or less okay.
I would try and keep the puppy away from smoke as much as possible, but a little probably isn't worse than car exhaust and pollution they inhale daily.

I think it depends on how small the room is. As long as there's a window open and the room is not too small, I wouldn't worry too much (a bit of common sense helps). I would be more paranoid about a human baby than a puppy, but I am human at the end of the day and naturally am instinctively more protective of my own species.

If the smoke is collecting and you can see it hanging in the air like it does in a smokey room, then remove the puppy. If not, just use your best judgement.

My mini yorkee Enjoys getting high as much as I do. Calms the little tweaker down.

I'm no misanthrope, but I'd be more worried about a puppy. The chances are that if somebody is dumb enough to put their baby in a smoke-filled room, nothing of value will be lost because their baby would probably grow up to be as dumb as them anyway thanks to bad parenting and genetics.

What does genetics have anything to do with whether or not you smoke in front of your kid?

This is another thread of dubious value. Basically, it is my view that you should not blaze in a room with anything that will breathe the smoke and cannot make an informed decision present. Closed, if anyone wants to convince me that it should be open my PM box is always open.
