How good is weed at reducing tumours?

So, long story short.

Earlier this year, I was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Trigeminal Nuroma.

Only recently have I seriously contemplated the idea of 'self medicating' with cannabis.

I dont even smoke cigarettes, so my lungs might be a little newbish, but Im pretty sure If I bought a vapouriser I might be able to have enough to eventually get rid of this mother fucker.

Advice and/or information appriciated :)
 
just eat the weed.

get someone to make edibles for you so you can eat one every day....

alas my friend kevin williams just died of a medulloblastoma this month.
 
weed does not reduce tumors..

im pretty sure people who smoke weed medicinally for cancer do so to help deal with the negative side effects associated with chemotherapy, not to treat the cancer itself.

im really sorry to hear about your diagnoses by the way.
 
Is there evidence that cannabis alone can "get rid of" a brain tumor completely, or even send it into remission in a reliable way? I've read a lot about how it can starve certain blood vessels in tumors, but nothing that states it is a cure-all method.

I agree with Arob, edibles are the way to go, although you will be loosing cannaboids, some of which may be the ones responsible for the reduction in brain tumors.

A section from this article stands out. (Yes I know it was written on April 1st, but there are near identical articles on the web dated a few days before and some a few days after)

Explaining that the introduction of THC into the brain triggers a cellular self-digestion process known as "autophagy," study co-author Guillermo Velasco said his team has isolated the specific pathway by which this process unfolds, and noted that it appears "to kill cancer cells, while it does not affect normal cells."

There is also a bbc article from ages ago that states:

Cannabinoids appeared to stifle VEGF production by increasing the activity of a substance that controls cell death, called ceramide.

Lead researcher Dr Guzmán said: "As far as we know, this is the first report showing that ceramide depresses VEGF pathway by interfering with VEGF production."

Obviously, I dont know if its specific to 'glioblastoma multiforme' as most of the articles seem to focus on that. But I hope that it has wider application.
 
I've heard that Cannabis can shrink tumors and I found this article on a simple search for "Cannabis shrinking tumors".

The study was carried out at the Complutense University, Madrid, Spain.

The team used mice to demonstrate that the cannabinoids block vessel growth.

Apparently, the procedure is also effective in humans.

The Spanish team, led by Dr Manuel Guzm�n, wanted to see whether they could prevent glioblastoma multiforme cancer from growing by cutting off its blood supply. Glioblastoma multiforme is one of the most difficult cancers to treat - it seldom responds to any medical intervention, such as radiotherapy, chemotherapy and surgery.

Well, I dont really want to bring up the subject of weed with him tbh, as I dont think he would be too willing.

An 18 year old boy asking for weed to "cure his tumour" might seem a little off, but Ill bring it up next appointment if thats what you were getting at? They cant even perscribe it here though can they?
