How fast exactly does tolerance build?

With opiates I've always had sort of a natural tolerance. It takes 20+ mg of hydro to get a good buzz. And that's with no tolerance at all. But I was wondering if it's possible my tolerance builds really fast or something. Cause I took tramadol two times this past week (a day between each dose), and decided to take 30mg of hydro a few days after that, and it feelt like I had only taken 15. Can three doses in a week make tolerance really build that fast?

Well Tramadol is a weak opiate and also a hit or miss with most people. but using more than once a weak might build tolerance slightly but not much at all. also the time when you took 30mg of hydrocodone was you on a full stomach? that could had made the experience less fun as the previous time when you took 20mg

Yeah I had eaten a few hours before dosing. Does it make that much of a difference?
