How Does Zoloft Affect You(If You're On It Or Have Been On It)?

i've never been prescribed it but a friend gave me one, ages ago for no real reason.

my skin felt extremely wriggly and i was a bit slower to respond for the rest of the day but thats about it.

Bar some of the common sexual dysfunction - difficulty maintaining an erection and dry orgasms accompanied by pain - I never had any significant side effects, but it's also an antidepressant that failed to work for me at all, even at the highest supposedly therapeutic doses.

My understanding is that sertraline is standard as an SSRI with a particularly low adverse effect profile, hence its place as a common first-line treatment for its indicated symptoms. It's well-accepted that it requires 2-4 weeks to begin to have any positive effects.

what is generally considered the pecking order for LEAST side effects:
Lexapro
Zoloft
Prozac
Escitalopram
Citalopram
Wellbutrin (SNRI)
etc..

for most people, either Lexapro or Zoloft will have the least amount of side effects. Lexapro is almost an order of magnitude stronger per weight than Zoloft so if you are on 100mg Zoloft a switch to 10-20mg of Lexapro would be proper and vice-versa.

I cannot emphasize enough that before trying drugs, you should try bio-feedback therapy, mindful meditation, and acupuncture, all of which have helped me and others I know with serious anxiety and depression issues, in a manner much more effective and safe than SSRI's and benzos. (I know you weren't asking about benzos, but they are often prescribed together)
