How does testosterone increasing blood count cause feelings of elation in a neurotypical?

It also has impacts on dopamine and serotonin, upregulating both IIRC.

Exogenous testosterone basically affects the whole neurotransmitter system.

It's got nothing to do with increased hematocrit, unless of course you were anemic to start, then maybe the increased values would make you feel more energized. Otherwise, your doctor sounds like an idiot.

Based on my personal experience I would absolutely agree that Testosterone has a significant effect on neurotransmitters.
It is stimulating in nature but does not impair sleep at least not at low to moderately high dosages.

Absolutely this. The cholesterol based nature of steroids make them able to cross the BBB, and many act as neuro-steroids. Most notably proviron which if memory serves right was used as a steroidal antidepressant

Exactly. There's a reason why the term neurosteroid exists.

Yeah and in all honesty i can see it being addictive. But I will say I lowered my dose today by 50. Took it down to 150 while waiting on dr to tell me if my T is too high now. They are waiting on blood tests and she said just keep taking the 200 the other provider prescribed until we get the blood work back but I wasn’t trying to risk a relapse because it does make me crave more and almost manic like. Although I may in fact be hypomanic.

I’m not sure so I asked my therapist and she said it’s too hard to tell with all the drug use over the past years but that she wants me to trial it at least two I started the ability today that’s been sitting on my table since I filled it. Fucking hate taking shit like this. I hate APs. I hate them taking away my energy and motivation and elation but she seems to think I can’t keep it going but I think I can.

If I keep taking T every week I will likely stay that way without meds interfering but she also says it’s dangerous and risky but wtf idgaf

I hate meds…but I trust her over me as I’ve known her 7 years and she has given me suggestions that I’ve taken before but also ones I disregarded and suffered the consequences she warned me about so I’m trialing it as much as I hate to.

I hope it doesn’t affect libido or mood too much. I’ve been feeling too good for the first time in ages.
It's known there is a slight mood enhancement with stronger androgens like Dianabol. It's very temporary. The Endocrine Society has endocrinologists start at 75mg weekly, test cyp. The clinics start with 200mg.
200mg for many people is a small cycle. But it depends on what bloodwork shows in 3 months. My endo says she has many patients who are doing clinic TRT, using 200mg weekly and have elevated test (way over 1000 ng/dl) and elevated hematocrit and hemoglobin.

If that is the case you will often get an enhanced sense of well-being, but it fades away. If you try to extend a cycle of test too long you will start to feel the opposite. The science is complicated but in the past with low dose cycles I have noticed for a good 6 months I feel increased sex drive and increased energy but eventually estrogen related effects become an issue, water retention, no more muscle growth, lack of sex drive. At this point people increase their dose or add on other drugs and end up at 1G of T or higher.
It's best to call it a day and return to whatever TRT dose keeps your levels at a good range.

1300 isn't crazy high. The day after a shot of 75mg I am 1300. Mid week I'm 6-700. When people do like 800mg week, by week 6 they are well over 2000 ng/dl.
Week 2 you still have 400mg active, plus the 800. Week 3 you have 600mg active plus the 800, and so on. 8 day half life.
