Ok i know this is in the wrong section, but somone please help with this its so annoying, the search engine dosent seem to help with anything. For example ill type in "dxm" and it says no searches were found,..? and then say on the "other drugs" forum, i type in cocaine and all the threads have nothhing to do with cocaine lol, it shows up random drugs.

i hear ya its a big pain in the ass i havent quite figured it out either maybe it requires a * here or there i dunno

Try using google with bluelight.ru in the search. It's roundabout, but generally the results don't seem as tangential as when I us the BL search engine.

absolutely, answer is "dont use it, it sucks." use google, just add site:bluelight.ru to the search terms box, using standard google AND, OR other booleans, (), " " etc. to your hearts content, works like a charm.

Kinda ironic that everyone says" utfse" as though that's the logical means of procuring information through bl. Lol

I never really dig when people use that term anyways personally. I understand extraeneous and repeatibe questions get tiresome to the regular blers, but it comes off as aggressive and bad vibes to me when the response to these questions are elitist know-it-all acronyms lol.

PD -> Support

If you know it's in the wrong section, don't post it there please.

Do with this as you will overlords of Support ;)

My preferred method of searching on BL is to use the search on the top right of the forum (located opposite of the tabs for home, forum, blogs, whats new). I click on advanced search below the white text bar, and from there I type what I am looking for into the keywords box of the 'search for posts' section.

Now here is the important part. Switch the drop-down bar located to the right of where you type in your keywords from 'search entire posts' (which is the default) to 'search titles only.' Most keywords being searched for are mentioned in posts in so many threads that it's really not useful to use that default. Searching titles only will ensure that you will only get search results for threads that have the specified keyword(s) in the title.

In the additional options below that you can specify forums, and dates for your search query.

Hey, while we're talking about the search engine, you'll notice that it now defaults to the more useful "Search Single Content Type" tab, rather than the rather useless "Search Multiple Content Types".

Your point about thread titles is a good one, Tommy. For more common substances/topics, it's usually the way to go.

Here's a bit of useful info -

on any forum whether it be bluelight or not, you can search for content using Google on that specific forum by typing in site:www.bluelight.ru for example. So say I wanted to search for DXM, I would type: DXM site:www.bluelight.ru and it would give me results from only Bluelight. I know they've installed a Google search bar but it's useful to know for other boards that don't have this.

I just wanted to highlight this.

The search function works brilliant............but the above is imperative.

^ That's good and all, but nobody outside of this thread will find that out.
