How do you tell your dealer what you want?

This was back with my old dealer (meth), I always called it dinner.
"Do you have dinner"
"Is dinner cooked yet"
"Need anything from the store for dinner"
"I'm coming over for dinner"

Sometimes it's code, normally speak freely. I always start with code slang and follow their lead.
Thats weird if he got pissed about you asking for something by name though lol.

with D i used to say "yo can you meet? need $80" ($80 worth of dope or w.e. number id say), he would text me back 5-10mins later "k"

with hard id say "yo can you do me a $40" (or however much), he would reply "tru"

20 bag for weed
Molly or MD for MDMA
Coke for cocaine
Acid for LSD
and Shrooms for well mushrooms

Don't see a need for some paranoid code.

Everyone around here just asks for it outright. When I message my weed guys, I just ask if they're home or can swing by & tell them how much I have to spend.

Honestly, my main thing is I hate for someone to text me about drugs. I've had one friend for over a decade who has JRA and will occasionally need pain meds during a bad flare. Tell me why she still will send me a text like "Do you have any extra oxycodones this month?" or will reference earlier conversations like "You said you were refilling your Dilaudid this week, can I get a couple?" I'm just like... I'm not actually a terribly paranoid person, but damn. I feel like texting that shit is just stupid, and I shouldn't have to remind her over and over to not put it in writing like that. I just straight up ignore her texts now, and somehow I'm the asshole. You know, as opposed to the person who continues to ignore a boundary I've set. -_-

Pain and bikes for Norcos and Xanax. My reliable dealers I can just call and they will say "pull up". get what I need and be on my way.

Over the years this has also been a major source of contention for me. Line tapped? You're ALREADY f*cked, hard. No, slang isn't going to fool anyone, especially because you're sure as heck not going to be taking your low level dealing case to jury trial to make some ridiculous argument that whatever clever lingo you used didn't refer to the drugs the CI/UC bought from you or was seized in the search. And even one slipup like 'yo not on the phone' removes that last shred of doubt.
Oh and text messages? They're stored indefinitely while voice convos need an active tap at the time of the convo.

The worst part is, I *always* explain that if they're interested in real security for their communications, I'd love to set it up. Never any interest besides actual friends who then proceed to use secure channels with me only, which obviously won't help. Reality is it's hard, especially if you want to defend against a federal level investigation. Staying out of jail starts long before a tap is requested and requires physical security practices that are way more important than the digital practices.

Still never had a dealer that doesn't talk openly/obvious obfuscation and text over plain SMS, no matter how many rants about security I go on about.

It's so frustrating isn't it? I tell people over and over that we can and should use technology to ensure nothing we say to each other can be intercepted. But they don't believe me that it's possible. They just won't do it. And you're right, most of the code and slang is totally useless. But most people don't believe in, or even understand cryptography. They just think it's all magic, and the government ha e the best magicians so it's impossible to talk to each other without the law enforcement able to intercept it if they want. So they don't even try. I've been really frustrated so many times, I explain it to them and they don't understand what in saying, yet still have the audacity to assume I'm wrong even though I clearly know vastly more than they do about the subject.

If it were up to me, we would all talk over an encrypted channel, with perfect forward security, separate and easily disposed of authenticated private keys, and unique asymmetrically negotiated session session keys and automatic deletion and overwrite of all discussions at the end of the session. And then we could all be sure of who we were talking too, and it would take no effort to ensure all communications were secure and impossible to listen in on, and we could directly talk to each other.
