How do you see yourself in the scene?

i just love my raver pants!! uv beads, glowing necklace, uv pants, reflectors... but i stop at glowsticks- they just arn't for me.
ha ha! i had glowsticks last night @ TT!
ah well!
the music has become more important now.
I pretty much just go to parties and events now, no regular clubs or raves.
and now, there's no drugs

Nah, not a raver never was.
The rave scene has a whole element of cliche and incest in it that I don't like and dis-associate myself from.
So im just me :)

dude. I am a blufluffybunny! And i am proud to be that! So I see myself as a blufluffybunny..
How do i see myself? I go to raves, get into it, but go about my life as though I am an upstanding membr of the community.

upstanding member of the community!!
HAAHAAHAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA
;)

I refuse to call myself a raver. I may go to raves and listen to techno but i do not like being classified as a 'raver'. Egh! I love alot of styles of music and i'm an old grunge girl at heart :)

Barney Gumnut...I really really like your post to this at the start of the thread. You've been able to type out exactly how I see myself but I haven't condensed it into as few words.
I dress lots of different ways depending on who I'm with too. I've been known to wear kandy raver stuff once or twice too :)

hhmmmm i don't really see myself as a "raver" as such but if others are gonna put that label on me it's a waste of time trying to fight their views. people will see me how they see me whether i like it or not.
Some of the things i like to do have really got nothing to do with the rave scene even if they maybe seen as the sterotypical kHaNdi thing to do. Eg. My silly behaviour and love of cartoons. These existed long before i started going out.
However, this brings up another point for me. Do a group of people who seem to do enjoy particular things do so because they feel it's the "normal" thing to do for this group?
Or does these groups come together mostly because of pre-existing similar interests?
Sorry bout the rambling...hope im making some sort of sense :)

I'm:
That guy who dances towards the back, 'cause he wants more room to move,
That guy who looks too old to be using glo-sticks,
That guy who isn't trying to screw his girlfriend on the dancefloor, but looking at her in quiet amazement because she is so very stunning,
That guy who REALLY shouldn't take off his shirt, but is going to anyway...
That guy who knows that BeXta is an egotisitcal, coke-addled little bitch, but still owns all three Mixology CD's and dances like a loon when she plays.
And a lot more...

im the undercover FASHION policeman quietly taking down names...

mmm how do i see myself in the scene????????
Really I don't think I see myself as anything in the scene since when iam in the scene Im not myself to see...there for I don't really see or notice the scene to be able to come to terms with seeing what I am in the scene?????????????

I partly see myself as a raver, i am there for the music, i only go to events where there are djs playing that i am interested in. i dont just go to events/raves to see djs that i have no clue about and just to take drugs.

i'm ravy1
i'm here to have fun..
i'm here to feel those euphoric feelin'
i'm here to make u all happy..
u'll just have to meetup with me one day at a rave to understand who i am...and i'll show u how to have fun
til then..
ravy1
oh did i say i'm a raver as well? ;-P

Raver = Individual. We are all ravers if you go by this rule. Modern day hippies

I agree with Jonah, we are the next generation of hippies. I consider myself a raver
because
I follow PLUR (to an extent)
I believe in community
I love the music
I love the people
I love the scene
I love the rebellious neo-romantic undertone that most people seem to miss in the scene. That concept of the man not hloding us down, that we are free to be ourselves completely without any kind of fear.
Im a Raver but Im not a stereotype
