how do you pick an event?

I am just curious how people pick the events that they go to. I have never really been a party kid or anything like that, and beside from a warehouse type party thrown on a private site by the owner I have never been to an event where you pay admission and real deal dj's are spinning and there is a legitiment laser show. I really appreciate mdma for the feelings it evokes, the free speech that you can tell loved ones how you feel in a productive way, and the intense feelings of pleasure it provides. Seeing as i have never been to an insane party I have decided that I want to attend one. I was thinking about bonnaroo but if someone thinks there is a better party please let me know.

I am almost positive that my favorite EDM is trance with shit being said that just sends chills up your spine.

Can you tell from reading what I have wrote that I am rolling my face off?
