@OP
Ok, I thought you meant my post was BS cause of the needle exchange comment. This is a drug and social forum, so I figured it was fine to talk about stuff like that here

Like I said, I was just saying that you usually meet people when you're going about your day, when you least expect it. Maybe shopping at the store, maybe sitting on a bench in the park, things like that. A lot of times, they there's listings of local events. Go to the library and look around for some posters or grab a local paper.
It is hard being in a new town. You should work on getting your job and settling in first. I guarantee that along the way, you'll meet some cool people. Then once you have friends, you start hanging out in groups, and maybe one of them has a single friend for you.
Also like they said, a class at the community college would be good to socialize too. I took about 2 semesters after school. I didn't finish, but it was a nice experience. It was much more relaxed than high school. And if you come out with an associates even better. But, there's no new classes till summer probably.
Where did you live before and why'd you move? Did you move because your parents did or to get away from them? I hope you get to spend some time in Galveston too. I spent a week there 3 years ago and had a great time. Good luck man!
